Dhaka, June 14 (UNB) – New Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat was adorned with a rank badge at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Thursday.
In presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief of Army Staff General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Huq and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed adorned the new air chief with the rank badge of Air Marshal.
After the function, PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated the new air chief and mentioned that the government has taken various steps to build modern and time-befitting armed forces to safeguard the country's independence and sovereignty.
Prime Minister's Security Affairs Adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman, Defence Secretary Akhtar Hossain Bhuiyan, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Lt General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, PM's Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin and PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hasan were, among others, present.
Newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Masihuzzaman Serniabat took over the command of BAF from the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar at a ceremony at Chief of Air Staff’s secretariat on Tuesday.
Masihuzzaman Serniabat has been appointed the new Chief of Air Staff for three years from June 12.
