Dhaka, Dec 7 (UNB) - The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trends in early hours of trading on Thursday as investors were cautious on booking profit.
The key index of the country’s major bourse shed over 8.23 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse lost 13.81 points at 12:04 pm.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went down by 8.23 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 6,258.
The two other indices also saw negative trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also shed over 5.45 points or 0.24 percent to stand at 2,266.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 0.86 points or 0.06 percent to reach at 1389.95.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1,684 million on the DSE, riding on Paramount Textile and Legacy Footwear.
Paramount Textile Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 78.01 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Legacy Footwear, FAS Finance & Investment and CVO Petrochemical Refinery.
Of the issues traded till then, 153 advanced, 97 declined and 62 issues remained unchanged.
The port city bourse, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 13.81 points to stand at 11,711.92 also at 12:04 pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 79 gained, 55 declined and 30 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 57.87 million.
