Dhaka University (DU) authorities on Monday suspended two students for the alleged involvement in extorting money from a truck driver.
The accused are Jobair Ahmed Shanta of the International Relations department (2017-18) and Md Al Amin of Institute of Education and Research (2017-18), said a DU press release.
Both of them are third-year students and inmates of Ziaur Rahman Hall.
The university authorities also issued show cause notice to them asking them to explain as to why they would not be expelled.
They were asked to reply to the show cause notice within seven working days.
On February 22, police arrested them reportedly for their involvement in extorting money from a truck driver in the city's High Court (HC) area.
