Mainuddin’s elder brother Malaysian expatriate Jasim Uddin informed his mother over phone around 4 am that Mainuddin uploaded a video of his wife and two children and wrote about his death on his Facebook wall.
Jasim Uddin also asked his mother to go Mainuddin’s house to know about their condition.
Later, his mother Firoza Begum and younger brother Kalam Sarder went to Mainuddin’s room and spotted the bodies of two minor children on the bed while Mainuddin’s body was hanging from the ceiling of the room.
Hearing their screaming, locals rushed in and informed police.
After a search, they spotted the body of Mainuddin’s wife tied up with a stick in a nearby pond.
On information, Chandpur Police Super Zihadul Kabir PPM and assistant superintendent Jahid Parvej of circle police visited the spot.
Md Nasim, officer-in-charge of Chandpur Model Police Station said police recovered the bodies and sent those to Chandpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Family sources said Mainuddun locked into altercations with his wife for last couple of days as she had lost a pair ear rings.
Meanwhile, police primarily suspected that Mainuddin committed suicide after killing his wife and strangulating his two children.
The OC also said they were investigating the incident.
