The deceased was identified as Ashique Mahmud Oni, 14, son of trader Rabiul Paramanik of village. He appeared at this year’s Junior School Certificate examination from Dublia High School.
Victim’s cousin Shawon Reza Khan said Ashique went to see his father’s shop at the village in the evening of November 26 and after sometime, Rabiul asked him to go home but he did not return.
Rabiul filed a general diary with Ataikula Police Station the following day after failing to trace him.
Seeing a herd of foxes were dragging something out of a hole in a garden in front of Dublia police camp this morning, curious locals went there only to find the body of the schoolboy. Later, police recovered the body.
Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station, said they detained Ashique’s two classmates for interrogation over the incident.
