According to a spokesperson at Prime Minister's Office, Sheikh Hasina, after attending a programme of Bangladesh Army in Rajshahi, straight went to the BSMMU from the helipad at about 3:40 pm to see Quader who is undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital following a cardiac arrest.
The spokesperson said Hasina stayed at the hospital for over half an hour and enquired about the health condition of the AL general secretary from doctors.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and BSMMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanak Kanti Barua were, among others, present.
The Prime Minister attended the "national standard" handover ceremony of the Bangladesh Infantry Regiments (BIR)-7th, 8th, 9th and 10th at Shaheed Colonel Anis Parade Ground at Rajshahi Cantonment in the morning.
The AL general secretary was admitted to the BSMMU in the morning with complaints of breathing complications.
He was diagnosed with three blockages in his coronary artery, the BSMMU VC said.
The minister was first taken to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at 8.30 am and then shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of BSMMU, Senior Public Relation Officer Abu Naser of Roads and Highways Division said.
