Police here on Thursday arrested two madrasa teachers for reportedly killing a four-year-old student in Kaliganj upazila of the district.

The arrestees were identified as Jonayet Ahmed, 30, and Khairul Islam, 25, teachers of Morash Jamiatul Madrasa and Orphanage in Jangania union of the upazila.

Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station Mizanul Haque said the victim, Adil, son of madrasa teacher Jobayer Haque, went missing on Wednesday afternoon.

The attitude and movement of the teachers triggered the suspicion, he said.

Later, locals searched the cabinet at the room of assistant teacher Jonayed where the body was found, the OC added.
 
The body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College for autopsy, he said.
