Police recovered a woman’s body stuffed inside a sack from a canal at Kodomtoli thana under South Keraniganj of Dhaka on Saturday.
On information from the locals, the police recovered the body of the unidentified woman, 20, from the Shuvaddaya canal in Kodomtoli area around 5.30 in the evening.
Later, the body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Shah Zaman, Officer-in-Charge of Dakkhin thana, confirmed the incident and said the body of the woman was recovered on Saturday in a sack as per the information of the local residents.
Investigation Officer Bosir Uddin informed that the deceased was wearing a pink Shalwar-Kamiz. The miscreants after tying her hand and leg, put the body in a sack and threw it in a canal, he added.
Police presumed that some gang might have killed the woman after raping her and throwing the body kept in a sack.
In this connection, police as Plaintiff lodged case with South Keraniganj thana.
