BDB Joint Secretary General Mahi B Chowdhury made the demand while talking to reporters after a joint meeting of BDB and its associate bodies.
“We want to forge the national unity with BNP as it’s a party founded by one of the great freedom fighters – Ziaur Rahman. But we have objection to including BNP in the national unity process if it keeps any anti-Liberation party or individual in its alliance,” he said.
Mahi said they urged the leaders of Jukta Front and Jatiya Oikya Prokriya not to include BNP in the national unity process until it severs ties with the anti-Liberation party and individuals. “We also urged the leaders involved with the national unity process not to share a stage with BNP leaders until they quit the anti-Liberation force,” he said.
He said they will present their associate bodies’ proposals before party president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury for taking decisions in this regard.
The meeting was held on the ground floor of B Chowdhury’s Baridhara residence.
