Prime Bank batted first after losing the toss and accumulated a huge 344 for six wickets in spite of losing the first wicket in 5 runs. In reply, Sheikh Jamal tumbled for 206/4 in 37.1 overs. The match ended early due to the rain, and as a result, Prime Bank won the game by 29 runs (DLS method).
Anamul struck 101 off 120 balls with eight fours while Easwaran hit 133 off 126 with 10 fours and on six to his name. Ariful Haque was the other batsman to shine with the bat as he struck 67 off just 32 balls with four fours and three sixes.
Tanbir Hyder took two wickets for Sheikh Jamal while Shahidul Islam and Taijul Islam took one wicket each for them.
In reply, Nasir Hossain (76) and Nurul Hasan (54*) hit fifties for Shiekh Jamal, but they failed to chase the target (236 in 37.1 overs) as the rain forced to end the game early.
Easwaran won the man of the match award for his 133.
With this win, Prime Bank are at number two on the points table. On the other hand, Sheikh Jamal are at number nine with three losses and one win from four matches.
In the other match of the day, the defending champion of the league, Abahani Limited, beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by five wickets.
Shinepukur batted first and tumbled for 203/9 in 50 overs. Afif Hossain was the best batsman of Shinepukur with his 48.
Mosaddek Hossain took three wickets while Rubel Hossain and Nazmul Islam bagged two wickets each for Abahani.
Abahani chased the target in 48.3 overs (206/5). Wasim Jaffer and Soumya Sarkar made a solid foundation of 62 runs in the opening stand. Soumya fell for 33 but Wasim hit 76 off 106. Nazmul Hossain Shanto also contributed 42 off 52.
Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam took three wickets but failed to avoid a loss for his team Shinepukur. Eventually, Abahani won the game by five wickets.
With this, Abahani won all of their first four matches of the season and cemented their place at number one on the points table. On the other hand, Shinepukur lost all of their four matches, and they are now at number 11 in the points table.
