Mohammad Mithun hit another fifty and Sabbir Rahman followed him scoring 43, but their effort was not enough for the Tigers to post a big total.
Lockie Ferguson shined once again with the ball as he bagged three wickets while Todd Astle and James Neesham took two wickets each for the hosts.
New Zealanders won the toss and decided to bowl first in a condition which was better for the bowlers. Bangladesh lost their openers inside 16 runs on the board. Tamim Iqbal fell for five and Liton Das followed him scoring just one. Liton fell for as many runs in the first match as well.
Tamim was trapped by lbw off the delivery of Matt Henry and Liton was hunted by Ferguson.
Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim added 32 runs in the third wicket stand. Soumya fell for 22 while poking a delivery of de Grandhomme to slip cordon where Ross Taylor took a regulation catch.
In the fourth wicket partnership, Mushfiqur and Mithun added 33 runs. The partnership was cruising to big runs. But Mushfiqur fell for 24 after getting two big chances.
Mufhiqur fell while clearing Ferguson’s high-speed delivery to cover. But he failed to control the movement of the ball which was kissed the inside of his bat and then shattered his stumps.
However, Mithun was hell-bent to score runs. In the first match, he came up with 62 and now, he scored 57. His back to back fifties helped the Tigers to pass the 200-runs mark in both of the occasions.
Mahmudullah Riyad also failed to steady in the middle as he fell for five. However, Sabbir exploited the chance scoring 43.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (16), Mohammad Saifuddin (10) and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (13) also contributed with the bat. But due to the collapse of the top-order and poor displays in the middle-order, the Tigers failed to set a challenging total for the hosts. They eventually lost all the wickets hitting 226/10 in 49.4 overs.
