“Around 80 percent of coronavirus-infected people get cured abiding by some normal rules staying at home. That’s why those who have been diagnosed with the virus should follow health guidelines instead of being panicked,” he said joining the daily online bulletin of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
The minister urged people to get tested if they develop any symptom like that of coronavirus, saying carefulness is highly needed to combat Covid-19.
Currently, around 1 lakh personal protective equipment (PPEs) are being produced every day for doctors, nurses and technologists of the country, he said.
Zahid Maleque also said 20 labs are now engaged in coronavirus testing, he said.
He revealed that arrangements are being made for the treatment of Covid-19 patients at more hospitals.
The hospitals are Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Mugda General Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, Railway General Hospital and some private hospitals.
Bangladesh saw the highest deaths from coronavirus on Friday as 15 more people died from the virus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll in the country to 75.

Besides, 266 people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 1838.
