Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the results at a press briefing at the secretariat on Monday.
Among them, a total 68,095 students obtained the highest grade GPA-5 which was 1,91,628 last year.
Besides, the pass rate in the JSC exam alone is 85.28 pc while that in the JDC is 89.04pc.
A total 25,99,169 students appeared in this year’s examinations from 29,078 institutions across the country. Among them, 22,30,829 students came out successful.
The pass rate in the examination is 2.18 percent higher than that of the previous year.
A total of 4,769 educational institutions have achieved 100 percent pass which was 5,279 last year and the number of institutions with zero percent pass rate is 43 this year which was 59 last year.
Besides, a total 541 students appeared in the examinations from abroad in nine centres. Among them, a total 530 students came out successful with the pass rate 97.97percent. Among them, 56 students obtained GPA-5.
This year the number of male students was 11,92,852. Among them 10,15,387 students passed the examination with the pass rate 85.12 percent, which is 1.56 percent higher than the previous year. The number of GPA-5 achievers among them is 28,190 which was 80,898 last year.
Besides, the total number of female students was 14,06,317 among whom 12,15,442 students came out successful which is 2.70 percent higher than the previous year. Among them, the number of GPA-5 achievers is 39,905 which was 1,10,730 in last year.
The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations were held from November 1 to November 15 with the participation of a total of 25,99,169examinees.
The results of JSC, JDC and Primary Education Completion (PEC) and its equivalent Ebtedayee examinations were handed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasinaat her official residence Ganobhabanon Monday morning.
