Dhaka, July 22 (UNB) – A court here on Monday placed three people on a four-day remand in a case filed over the public lynching of Taslima Begum Renu, in Badda over child-lifting rumour.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mandal passed the order when police produced them before the court seeking 10-day remand for them.
Those remanded were identified as Bacchu, Bappi and Shahin.
Besides, Zafor, an accused in the case gave confessional statement under section 164 admitting his involvement in the incident.
On July 20, Taslima Begum Renu was beaten to death allegedly by angry mob over child lifting rumour at North Badda in the city.
The victim’s family member claimed that Taslima went to the area to look for a suitable school for her children.
