The deceased was identified as Rozina Khatun (30), assistant sub-inspector of Dhunat Police Station and daughter of Nannu Mia from Bahadurpur village of Singra upazila and wife of Hasan Ali of the same village.
Victim’s father Nannu Mia claimed Rozina along with her children was living in a rented property in Dhunat since being promoted to assistant sub-inspector of the police station recently while her husband was still iving in the village. Their marriage was said to be on the rocks for over 5/6 years.
Last Saturday, her husband had brought her home to his village, and it was there that three days later Rozina ingested poison, although it remains unclear exactly in what form and how she got it.
She was taken to Dhunat Upazila Health Complex, and later moved to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where she died around 9:30pm.
Inspector (Investigation) of Dhunat Police Station Farukul Islam said Rozina might have killed herself in continuation of family problems. Police will take necessary steps after getting medical reports.
No case was filed.
