The programme started by hoisting the national flag by Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen with the national anthem sung by all the officers of MoFA.
The event was followed by joint prayers and special Munajat, performed for the salvation of the departed soul of the Father of the Nation and members of his family who embraced the martyrdom in the most tragic event of the history of the country as well as all the freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifice in the War of Liberation of Bangladesh, and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
A seminar on different aspects of the life and leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman participated by the Foreign Secretary as the chief guest and the Rector, Foreign Service Academy, Ambassador Syed Masud Mahmood Khundoker as the chair was held after cutting of a cake to mark the occasion in a befitting manner.
All trainee officers of the Foreign Service Academy and officers from MoFA were present.
The Foreign Secretary underscored the lifelong struggle of Bangabandhu to bring a flying colour and his efforts for the economic emancipation of the people of the country with a dream to make Bangladesh a “Sonar Bangla”.
He emphasised the importance of translating the ideals of Bangabandhu into day to day works and responsibilities towards motherland.
Other discussants highlighted the philosophies of the Father of the Nation in liberating his countrymen and encourage them to engage selflessly in the rebuilding process of the nation.
They also drew a life sketch of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and discussed some glorious events of his life.
The discussion programme was rounded up with a strong resolve by all the Foreign Service officials to uphold the legacy of Bangabandhu in their day,-to-day life and earn a global recognition for everything what Bangabandhu stood forby upholding the image of the country to the outside world.
