Law Minister Anisul Huq on Friday said the people do not want to be under the misrule of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami again.
“They (the people) have not forgotten the time of their (BNP-Jamaat’s) reign,” he said while laying the foundation stone of Model Mosque beside Akhaura Upazila Parishad.
Huq also spoke about the bail petition of BNP’s incarcerated chief Khaleda Zia. “Her petition was rejected [by the top court] after scrutinising all documents,” he said.
The minister said the BNP was desperately trying to hold on to its few remaining supporters by telling them “nonsense things”.
Law Secretary Golam Sarwar, Akhaura Municipality Mayor Takzil Khalifa Kajol, Kosba Upazila Chairman Rashedul Kawser Jibon, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tahmina Akhter Reina, among others, were present at the programme.
