Local administration has put the Rajganj Bazar, the largest local market of the city, under lockdown as an expatriate who tested positive for the coronavirus had been there recently.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zakia Afreen said the local market was put under lockdown for three days from Tuesday.
Monir Hossain, a resident of Rajganj area was found infected with Covid-19 on Monday. Before being tested, he had gone to the market area several times.
After getting information that the expatriate had tested positive, the coronavirus, the local administration took the decision to put the market under lockdown.
However, samples of a number of people have been collected from the bazar for lab testing.
