Those remanded are Shamsul Arefin Rafat, 21, a 2nd year student of Mechanical Engineer department, Moniruzzaman Monir, 21, a 3rd year student of Water Resources Engineering department and Md Akash Hossain, 21, 3rd year student of Civil Engineering department.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain passed the order when Detective Branch of police Inspector Md Wahiduzzaman, also investigation officer of the case filed over the murder, sought a 10-day remand to interrogate the trio.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested them from the capital and Ashulia.
On Monday, law enforcers arrested 10 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League over the Abrar’s murder. They were put on a five-day remand on Tuesday.
A total of 13 suspects have so far been arrested in the case.
Abrar’s father Barkatullah filed the case with Chawkbazar Police station on Monday evening accusing 19 people of the murder.
The case was transferred to the DB on Tuesday for investigation.
Abrar, 21, a student Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), was found dead on the staircase of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university early Monday after some BCL leaders beat him at room-2011 of the dormitory on Sunday night suspecting his link to Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir.
On Monday, BCL expelled 11 leaders and activists of its Buet unit for their involvement in the murder of Abrar Fahad.
