Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday arrested a young man from Noyamati Muslim Para in Fatulla upazila for making derogatory remarks against the government and Prime Minister on social networking site Facebook.

The arrestee was identified as Azizur Rahman, son of Goni Mallik Kandi of Jajira upazila in Shariatpur district.

Tipped off, a team of Rab-11 conducted a drive in the area and arrested him in the morning, said Commanding officer of Rab-11, Lieutenant Colonel Imran Ullah Sarkar.

After primary interrogation, Rab said the man had long been involved in posting anti-government status on his Facebook page under the name  ‘Sayed MD Azizur Rahman’.
