About Jatiya Oikyafront convener Dr Kamal Hossain’s demand for releasing BNP chairperson Khaleda before Eid, the minister said, “BNP has the right to get space as a political party. But were they able to create such pressure on the government as an opposition party over different issues, including Khaleda’s release?”
“BNP is a major political party of the country and Khaleda Zia was Prime Minister of the country for several terms. But were they able to create much pressure on the government and the court? I haven’t yet got the answer from them,” he added.
On Sunday, Gonoforum President Dr Kamal Hossain demanded the release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and other political prisoners before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
