The match will kick-off at 6 pm (BdST).
In a pre-match press conference at Hotel Arize in Chonburi on Saturday, Bangladesh Head Coach Golam Rabbani Choton said “It is a tough tournament for us because all the Asian giants are participating, we are going to participate for the third time. I hope the game will be competitive and we will achieve a good result.”
Asking about team’s preparation, Choton replied “Our girls are preparing for last 16 months, we have done well in last three practice matches against two senior Thai clubs. They (Bangladesh team) are now motivated. The weather is also favorable. I do hope we will do well.”
Captain of Bangladesh U-16 team Maria Manda said “We have prepared ourselves through hard practices, We will try to give our best against Thailand tomorrow.”
On the other hand, Thailand Head Coach Kaenson Naruephon said “We will do our best as the hosts, our expectation is to go to the World Cup and we are ready for the tournament.”
Centering the competition, Bangladesh girls held their last training session on Saturday in Chonburi.
Bangladesh was put in four-team Group A alongside hosts Thailand, Japan and Australia while Group B comprises of defending champions North Korea, runners-up South Korea, China PR and Vietnam.
In their remaining group matches, Bangladesh will face Japan on September 18 and Australia on September 21, both at IPE Chonburi Stadium.
The champions and runners-up teams of the eight-team qualifying round will represent Asia alongside hosts India in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2020.
Previously, Bangladeshi booters conducted a 10-day preparation camp and played three practice matches against two Thai clubs there.
Bangladesh beat Muangthong U-17 Girls Academy team twice, first by 1-0 and other by 3-1 goals, and played to a 2-2 draw against Kasetsart University Women’s team.
