Batting first in the day’s title deciding match, Bogura Police Line School and College were bundled out cheaply for 111 runs in 36.2 overs. Later, Cumilla High School scored the match-winning 114 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 33.1 overs.
Abu Bakar of Cumilla High School was adjudged the man of the match scoring 49 runs off 38 balls featuring four fours and four sixes in addition to grabbing one wicket.
Sabbir Alam of Cumilla High School was named as the best player of the tournament for his all-round performances. He scored 253 runs and grabbed 25 wickets.
Divisional Commissioner of Rangpur Mohammad Joynul Bari was the chief guest in the final and later he distributed the trophies.
Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Enamul Habib, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director cum General Secretary of Rangpur Division and District Sports Associations Advocate Anwarul Islam and Additional Managing Director of meet’s sponsor Prime Bank, Mohammad Golam Rabbani were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, in the semifinals on Sunday, Cumilla High School eliminated Barishal Division champions Pirojpur Govt High School by 37 runs while holders Bogura Police Lines High School eliminated Rangpur Division champions Rangpur Shisu Niketon High School by 16 runs.
A total of 11,120 promising cricketers from 558 schools took part in 958 preliminary round matches across the country, in addition to seven national championship matches, organised by BCB and sponsored by Prime Bank Limited.
