Mohammad Hafeez hit eight fours and two sixes in his innings. Among others, Babar Azam scored 63 off 66 balls while captain Sarfaraz Ahmed 55 off 44 balls.
Earlier, Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman gave a solid start to Pakistan when England captain Eoin Morgan invited them to bat after winning the toss.
In the opening stand, the pair added 82 runs in 14.1 overs. Moeen Ali made first breakthrough dismissing Fakhar Zaman for 36.
Other opener Imam-ul-Haq added some more runs before his departure by Moeen Ali for 44 in the 20.1 over.
Then, Babar Azam along with Mohammad Hafeez tried to resist English bowlers. The pair added 88 runs in the third-wicket stand and was cruising to a big score for Pakistan.
But Moeen Ali broke the pair sending back Babar Azam for 63 when Pakistan were on 199 for 2.
Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed added 80 runs in the fourth wicket stand.
After Hafeez’s departure at 279 in 42.4 over, Sarfaraz Ahmed continued his composure over English bowlers.
The Pakistani captain hit five fours to smash a half century. He was removed by Chris Woakes.
Among others, Asif Ali scored 14 and Shoaib Malik 8 while tailender Wahab Riaz added 4.
Hasan Ali and Shadab Khan were unbeaten adding 10 runs each. Pakistan set a target of 349.
On the other hand, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali picked up 3 wickets each conceding 71 and 50 runs respectively while Mark Wood took 2 for 53.
