The third match of the four-team Group-C of qualifying round tournament will begin at 3 pm at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
Aki Khatun, who has been a frequent in the national squad for different age level international tournaments for more than a couple of years as a defender or sometimes as a midfielder, on Friday said, “We are looking forward to our next game. Our target is to get better and learn from them who are better than us.”
About their 0-5 loss in the first game against hosts Myanmar, Bangladesh women’s team Head Coach Golam Rabbani Choton expressed disappointment over the score line only, but termed the loss a ‘very pragmatic one’.
“We are delighted by these international opportunities for all the players. We must continue to grow up through learning for improvement. India is our focus now and we will plan for this. We are a young team and mustn’t expect too much from these players too early,” he said.
On Friday, Bangladesh team had a practice session, including taking a walk, swimming and stretching around the picturesque gardens at Inya Hotel.
Bangladesh will play the last game against Nepal on Tuesday (Nov 13) also at 3 pm at the same venue.
Myanmar are leading in the group table with the win against Bangladesh while Nepal are in the second spot after a 1-1 draw against India on Thursday’s match. Top two teams from the group will qualify for the next round of the tournament.
