Dhaka, Nov 19 (UNB) - Uncapped opening batsman Shadman Islam has been included in the Bangladesh squad for the first game of the two-match Test series against touring West Indies beginning on Thursday (Nov 22) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
The 23-year-old left-handed batsman has been a regular run scorer in domestic cricket over the last few years and he previously represented Bangladesh A and Bangladesh Under-19 teams.
With the inclusion of Shadman Islam, the number of Bangladesh first Test squad has risen to 14.
Bangladesh first Test squad: Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Soumya Sarker, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Ariful Haque, Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Naeem Hasan and Shadman Islam.
