France has launched "StopCOVID," a contact-tracing smartphone app that could warn people voluntarily using it if they come into contact with a COVID-19 carrier.
The country has so far recorded 188,802 confirmed coronavirus cases and 29,024 deaths, one of the highest among European countries, according to Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
