Sunamganj goes under lockdown

Madrasha student dies with fever, cold in Savar
A Madrasha student suffering from fever and cold died at his house in Savar municipality area on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Asadul Islam, 12, a resident of Chayabithi Mahalla in the municipality.
Dr Sayemul Huda, upazila Health and Family Planning officer, said the boy had been suffering from fever, cold and respiratory problem for the last few days and died on Sunday morning.
On information, Savar Upazila Health Complex authorities collected samples from the body of the boy.
Earlier on Saturday, an 80-year-old man died after suffering from breathing problem at his house at Batulia in Dhamrai upazila.
Local administration has put a number of houses in Savar and Ashulia under lockdown.

2 more test positive for coronavirus in Barishal
Two people who were undergoing treatment at the corona unit of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital tested positive for Covid-19.
Deputy Commissioner SM Azizur Rahman said, one of them is 60 years old and a resident of Kazirchar in Mehendiganj upazila, while another is 65 years and a resident of Dingarhat in Bakerganj upazila.
The authorities concerned collected samples of the duo on April 11.
Health worker tests positive for coronavirus in Jashore
A health worker tested positive for coronavirus at Mujgunni village in Manirampur upazila on Sunday.
Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Manirampur upazila, said the health worker, a resident of Jhapa union, tested positive for coronavirus and his house was put under lockdown on Sunday.
Dr Shuvra Rani Debnath, upazila health and family planning officer, said the staff was taken to the civil Surgeon office by an ambulance for taking decision about his treatment.
Besides, Civil Surgeon of Jashore district Sheikh Abu Shaheen, said samples of 101 people were sent to the Khulna Medical College and Hospital for test. The reports of some people were received today where the health worker tested positive, he said.

ATN News journo tests coronavirus positive; 20 colleagues quarantined
Twenty staff members of ATN News, a private TV channel, have been sent on home-quarantine after one of their colleagues has tested positive for coronavirus.
The journalist of the television channel returned home from abroad on March 21 after attending a one-month training course there, said its Executive Editor Munni Saha.
He went to his residence straight from the airport and maintained a 15-day home-quarantine period, she said.
The reporter started suffering from fever four days after he rejoined office on April 5, Munni Saha said, adding that he later developed cough and body ache.
As he approached the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), they collected his samples from his home on April 10 and he was informed on Saturday night that he had tested positive for Covid-19, she said.
The ATN News executive director said the reporter is now receiving treatment staying in isolation at his home.
She also said they sent 20 staff members who came in contact with him on home-quarantine.
