IBBL board of directors' meeting held
A meeting of the board of directors of the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was held Wednesday online.
The meeting approved the unaudited financial statements of the bank's second quarter. It also discussed the recent business performance of the bank and took some policy-related decisions.
Professor Md Nazmul Hassan, chairman of the bank, presided over the meeting.
Areef Suleman, foreign director and representative of the Islamic Development Bank, IBBL vice-chairmen Yousif Abdullah Al-Rajhi and Md Shahabuddin attended the meeting.

Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and CEO of the IBBL, and JQM Habibullah, deputy managing director and company secretary of the bank, also joined it.
The IBBL is a joint venture public limited company engaged in commercial banking business based on Islamic Shariah. It is listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange.
IBBL holds executive development program
Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) organised an executive development program on ‘Post Pandemic World Economic Scenario and Challenges of the Banking Sector of Bangladesh” through virtual platform recently.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director & CEO of the Bank addressed the program as the chief guest while Md Habibur Rahman, chief economist of Bangladesh Bank presented the key discussion.

Additional Managing Directors Muhammad Qaisar Ali and Md Omar Faruk Khan, and Deputy Managing Director Md Mostafizur Rahman Siddiquee also addressed the program.
IBTRA Principal SM Rabiul Hassan presided over the program and executives of the Bank participated in the program.
IBBL inaugurates ATM Booth at Kamalapur Railway Station
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) has launched an ATM Booth at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital.
Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan inaugurated the booth Saturday.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of IBBL, and Dhirendra Nath Mazumder, director general of Bangladesh Railway, were also present, according to a media statement.

IBBL recognised as best sustainable bank
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has been recognised as best sustainable bank by Bangladesh Bank.
Fazle Kabir, Governor, Bangladesh Bank handed over the crest of recognition to Mohammed Monirul Moula, Managing Director and CEO of Islami Bank at Bangladesh Bank head office on Thursday, said a media release.
A.K.M Sajedur Rahman Khan & Abu Farah Md. Nasser, Deputy Governors, Nurun Nahar, Executive Director and Khondkar Morshed Millat, Director of Bangladesh Bank were also present on the occasion.
Bangladesh Bank has published such rating based on four indicators such as Sustainable Finance, Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), Green Refinance and Core Banking Sustainability.
A total of 10 private banks in Bangladesh were recognised in the Sustainability Rating-2021.
IBBL holds Shari`ah Supervisory Committee meeting
A meeting of the Shari`ah Supervisory Committee of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was held virtually on Wednesday.
Prof Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder, chairman of the committee presided over the meeting, the bank said in a statement.

Mufti Sayeed Ahmed, vice chairman, and Prof Mohammad Abdus Samad, member secretary of the committee along with other members attended the meeting.

Cellfin launches Mastercard dual currency prepaid card
Cellfin, omni-channel banking app of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL), has launched a Mastercard dual currency prepaid card.
The users will be able to buy from any local or foreign e-commerce sites in both foreign currency and taka.

Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of IBBL, inaugurated the card service on June 22 at a Dhaka hotel.
The card enables fund transfer to Mastercard cards or accounts of any bank connected to the NPSB/BEFTN/RTGS network.

Having an IBBL account is not necessary for this card. One may avail of the card by registering with Cellfin, said a media statement Saturday.
IBBL donates food for flood-hit people of Netrokona
The Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) recently donated food and medicine for the flood-hit people of Netrokona.
Md Anisul Haque, IBBL executive vice president and head of the Mymensingh zone, handed over the food items to the Netrokona Deputy Commissioner's Office.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Aftab Ahmed received the food items.
IBBL also handed over food items to the deputy commissioner's offices in Sylhet, Sunamgonj, Bogura, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram and Sirajganj for the flood-hit people, according to a media statement issued Thursday.
IBBL signs MoU with BRB Hospital
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) recently signed an agreement on corporate facilities with BRB Hospital.
Under the deal, IBBL cardholders, the bank's officials and their family members will get a discount, up to 25 percent, from the hospital.

JQM Habibullah, deputy managing director of IBBL, and Dr Md Monsur Ali, director of BRB Hospital, signed the MoU in the capital.
IBBL opens hajj booth at Ashkona
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) has opened a hajj booth at Ashkona Hajj Camp in the capital.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, inaugurated the booth Friday.

The services that the booth is providing to the hajj pilgrims include the dollar and Saudi riyal endorsement, ATM, and information.

IBBL holds Eid reunion
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) organised an Eid reunion in the capital Sunday.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, spoke the programme as chief guest.
IBBL Additional Managing Director Muhammad Qaisar Ali presided over the event; Additional Managing Director Md Omar Faruk Khan delivered the welcome speech.
