Dengue: 1 more die in Bangladesh, 179 new patients hospitalized
Dengue claimed one more life in Bangladesh while 179 new patients were hospitalized with the fever in 24 hours till Sunday morning.
With the fresh deaths, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year rose to 87, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deceased, 80 people died in Dhaka division alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one each in Rajshahi, Barishal and Mymensingh division.

Among the new patients, 154 were undergoing treatment in hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 25 cases were reported from outside the division.
Some 840 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Sunday.
Of them, 680 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 160 were listed outside Dhaka.

Since January, some 22,498 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue in the country. So far, 21,571 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, said DGHS.
In September, the country recorded the highest number of 7,841 dengue cases of the current year with 22 deaths.
Dengue: 112 more hospitalized in 24 hours with no deaths
Another 112 patients were hospitalized with dengue fever across the country in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
With no new deaths reported during the period, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year remained unchanged at 83, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the new patients, 99 were undergoing treatment in Dhaka hospitals while the remaining 13 cases were reported from outside the division.
Of the deceased, 77 people died in Dhaka division alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Mymensingh division.

Some 768 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Wednesday morning.
Of them, 593 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 175 were listed outside Dhaka.
Since January, some 21,837 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue in the country.

So far, 20,986 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, said DGHS.
In September, the country recorded the highest number of 7,841 dengue cases of the current year with 22 deaths.
Dengue: 151 more hospitalized in 24 hours
Another 151 patients were hospitalized with dengue fever across the country in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With no deaths reported during the period, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year remained unchanged at 83, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the new patients, 105 were undergoing treatment in Dhaka hospitals while the remaining 46 cases were reported from outside the division.

Of the deceased, 77 people died in Dhaka division alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Mymensingh division.
Some 798 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning.
Of them, 609 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 189 were listed outside Dhaka.

Among the new patients, 130 were undergoing treatment in Dhaka hospitals while the remaining 42 cases were reported from outside the division.
Of the deceased, 77 people died in Dhaka division alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Mymensingh division.
Some 815 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Monday morning.
Of them, 630 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 185 were listed outside Dhaka.

Two more people died of dengue and 182 new patients were hospitalized across the country in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the latest deaths, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year increased to 80, according DGHS.
Among the new patients, 143 were undergoing treatment in Dhaka hospitals while the remaining 39 cases were reported from outside the division, according to DGHS.

Some 916 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning.
Of them, 742 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 174 were listed outside Dhaka.
Among them, 75 people died in Dhaka division alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one in Rajshahi.

Since January, some 20,518 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue in the country.
So far, 19,522 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, said DGHS.
The number of dengue patients hospitalized in a single day was the highest with 343 patients on September 7.
In September the country recorded the highest number of 7,841 dengue cases of the current year with 22 deaths.
In August 7,698 people were diagnosed with dengue while the highest 34 people died from it, said DGHS.
Dengue outbreak in Bangladesh: 221 more hospitalized
Another 164 new dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in 24 hours till Saturday morning.
The number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease remained static at 59 as no fresh death was reported during the 24-hour period, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the new patients, 164 were undergoing treatment in hospitals in the capital while the remaining 57 cases were reported from outside the Dhaka division.
Some 1,099 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country, the DGHS said.

Of them, 880 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 219 were listed from outside Dhaka.
Among the deceased, 54 died in Dhaka city alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one in Rajshahi.
Some 17,115 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January.
So far, 15,957 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, the DGHS added.

The highest number of dengue patients hospitalized in a single day so far this year was 343 patients on September 7.
In August, the country recorded the highest number of 7,698 dengue cases in the current year.
In July, 2,286 people were diagnosed with dengue and 12 died while in June 272 cases were recorded with no death.
Dengue: 1 more dies, 315 more hospitalised
Dengue claimed one more life in the past 24 hours raising the death toll to 52, said a report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
Among the dead 48 were in Dhaka city alone, two in Chattogram division, one in Khulna and one in Rajshahi.

Besides, a total of 315 new patients were admitted to different hospitals during the period, it said.
Among the new patients, 262 were admitted to government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 53 cases were reported from outside the division, according to DGHS.
Some 1,280 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Sunday morning, according to DGHS.
Of them, 1,131 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 149 were listed outside Dhaka.
Some 11,816 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January.

So far, 10,481 dengue patients have been released from hospitals after recovery, said the DGHS.
Health authorities have been recording over 200 dengue cases per day since August 1.
The dengue outbreak has become a cause of major concern as the country is battling the deadlier Delta variant of coronavirus with its limited health care facilities for the last few months.
198 more hospitalized with Dengue in 24 hrs: DGHS
Amid the rise in Dengue cases in the country, 198 new patients were admitted to different hospitals in 24 hours till Sunday morning.
Among the new patients, 189 were admitted to government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining cases were reported from outside the division, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The country has been seeing over 200 Dengue patients per day for the last 14 days since August 1.
The dengue outbreak has become a cause of major concern as the country is battling the deadlier Delta variant of coronavirus with its limited medicare facilities for the last few months.
So far, 25 suspected dengue deaths were reported to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) but it is yet to confirm any death from dengue, said the DGHS.

Some 1,049 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Sunday morning, according to DGHS.
Most of the cases have been reported in the capital so far, said the health authorities.
Of them, 960 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the rest were listed outside Dhaka.

Some 6,100 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January, and 5,026 of them have been released after they recovered from the disease.
Dengue fever was first reported in Bangladesh in 2000, claiming 93 lives that year. In the years that followed, the country learned to deal with the disease much better, but it did become endemic. Fatalities almost fell to zero at one stage, before spiking again in 2018, leading to the horrific crisis the following year.
104 more dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hrs
Health authorities said that 104 more people were hospitalised with dengue in capital Dhaka in 24 hours until Saturday morning amid a rise in the mosquito-borne disease.
Across Bangladesh, some 422 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in different hospitals for the disease as of Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The vast majority of them are in the capital.

DGHS reports 419 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital, while just three patients were listed outside Dhaka.
Some 1,574patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January – 1,149 of them have been released after recovery.
The recent spike in dengue cases has added to the burden on healthcare providers as the country continues to grapple with the devastating second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
DGHS spokesman and line director Dr. Nazmul Islam advised testing for dengue as well as coronavirus in case of temperature.
He said medicine should be taken on the advice of a registered doctor only in case of treatment. If necessary, one may contact the hotline number of DGHS.
