Dhaka, May 16 (UNB) – Dhaka Abahani Limited conceded a 0-4 defeat against JSW Bengaluru Football Club of India in their Group E home match of the AFC Cup Football at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.
In another match of the group, Aizwl FC of India upset New Radiant Club of the Maldives by 2-1 goal in Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati.
Visiting Bengaluru FC got the top slot in the group with the win, collecting 15 points from six outings with five wins against one loss.
Abahani finished in the penultimate 3rd spot with their collection of four points from six matches, recording one win, one draw against four losses.
In the day’s match, Bengaluru FC took the lead in the 13th minute as Daniel Segovia’s right-footed shot found the net off a Sunil Chhetri pass, 1-0.
Nishu Kumar doubled the margin in the 16th minute by a right footer from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner of the post also off a Sunil Chhetri pass, 2-0.
Nishu Kumar again found the net in the 58th minute by a right-footed shot from the centre of the box off Sunil Chhetri’s through ball, 3-0.
After assisting for the first three goals, Sunil Chhetri saw an individual success in the 60th minute as his right-footed shot from the centre of the box fired the bottom left corner of the post, 4-0.
Bengaluru FC dominated the first half by 2-0 goal while Abahani missed three attempts in the first half and two chances in the 2nd half.
