AL-BCL clash leaves one dead in Chattogram
Chattogram, Oct 15 (UNB) – An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was killed during a clash between BCL and Awami League workers at Fultoli Bazar in Fatikchhari upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Faisal Titumir alias Ali AKbar, 22, son of Abbas of Hokkarghat at Khiram union.
Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station Babul Akhter said two local Awami League men -- Taher Miah and Mona Miah-- locked into an altercation with two BCL boys -- Faisal and Akkas -- around 8pm which later turned into a clash.
Faisal and Akkas received serious stab injures in the clash.
They were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Faisal dead around 10pm.
A case was filed.

Sec 144 imposed in Thakurgaon over temple land dispute
Thakurgaon, Oct 14 (UNB) – The local administration on Sunday slapped section 144 in the adjoining areas of a disputed temple in Auliapur union of Sadar upazila.
The administration imposed the ban from 10 am which will be effective until further notice, said Abdullah Al Mamun, Thakurgaon upazila nirbahi officer.
He said there had a dispute between Sonaton Hindu and ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) followers over a piece of 34-acre land of Roshikalal Ziu temple.
On September 4, a man was killed in a clash between the two groups, said the UNO adding: “The trials of the murder and ownership cases are still under process.”
To avoid any untoward situation, the administration imposed the ban, said the UNO.
