NSU student killed in Jamalpur road crash
Jamalpur, Sept 22 (UNB) – A student of North South University was killed as a truck hit a motorcycle he was riding on Bypass Road in the district town on Friday night.
The victim was identified as Faisal Mahmud Supto, 21, son of Md Nizam Uddin, of Dhakaipatti Madrasa Road of the town and a Six-Semester student of Civil Engineering Department of NSU.
Md Nasimul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the accident took place in front of under-construction Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital around 9pm when the truck hit the motorcycle riding by Supto and his friend Sijan Mahmud, a BBA student of the university, leaving Supto dead on the spot and Sijan critically injured.
Later, locals seized the truck.
On information, police recovered the body.
The injured was admitted to General Hospital.
Motorcyclist shot dead in Bagerhat
Bagerhat, Sept 22 (UNB) – A motorcyclist was gunned down by miscreants on Khulna-Mongla highway at Jugidanga in Sadar upazila on Friday night.
The victim was identified as Hasan Sheikh, 35, son of Jahangir Sheikh of Bagmara village in Rupsa upazila of Khulna district. He used to carry passengers in his bike.
Pankaj Chandra Roy, Superintendent of Begerhat Police, said a businessman, Pradip Saha, owner of ‘M Dewan Store’ of Kalibari area of Khulna city, along with his associate Rafiq came to Bagerhat to collect money of his business establishment riding Hasan's bike.
While they were returning to Khulna around 8:45pm, a gang of miscreants attacked them and opened fire, leaving Hasan dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Police suspected that miscreants attacked them to snatch money.
