Two held with US$ 89,800 in Jashore
Jashore, Sept 6 (UNB) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two people along with US$ 89,800 from Amrakhali check post in Benapole port area on Thursday.
The arrestees were identified as Obaidur Rahman, 27, son of Amir Hossain and Masud Molla, 30, son of Kawsar Molla of Narail district.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 led by Subedar Mizanur Rahman, intercepted a Jashore-bound bus from Benapole around 6 am and arrested two hundi traders along the US currency equivalent to Tk 75.43 lakh, said Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 battalion.
Later, the arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port police.
