Xiaomi Redmi K50i 5G Review: Performance Centric Mid-range Phone
Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi launched its K series with an aim to offer a performance-centric budget phone. Debuted in 2019, Redmi K20 series got a huge response from users. In this legacy, Redmi brought K50i, which was first launched in India in July 2022. It has some high-performing configurations such as Dimensity 8100 chipset, triple camera setup, 256GB storage, 144Hz refresh rate, and more. Let’s take a look at the key specs, advantages, and disadvantages of Xiaomi’s Redmi K50i Smartphone.
Key Features of Redmi K50i
Design
Although the phone doesn’t come with an excellent appearance, it is a decent-looking phone. It has a textured back made with polycarbonate that gives a solid quality with a distinctive look. K50i comes in three colors Phantom Blue, Stealth Black, and Quick Silver. All these color variations will surely give you a premium feel.
You will get a rectangular camera module on the top left of the back, which is aligned with the sides making it more proportionate. It has three lenses as well as a dual LED flash. The rugged back is great at resisting fingerprints.

The smartphone’s top edge features an IR blaster, a 3.5-mm headphone jack, and a speaker grille. The bottom carries a USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, and a SIM card slot. You will get the volume rockers power button on the right edge while the left edge is kept idle. The placement of buttons is good and clicky. The front contains a glass display with a hole for the camera at the top center.
The smartphone boasts a thick chin and curved edges to provide a comfortable feel in hand. The phone measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs 200 grams. Its screen-to-body ratio is about ~85.1% screen-to-body ratio
Display
The Redmi K50i 5G comes with a 6.6-inch FHD FFS display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. However anyone can expect an AMOLED display at this price range, but it does not mean that the display in the K50i is not great.

The smartphone’s screen has 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution along with about ~407 PPI density. They are attractive and bright screens with lots of detail. This is a good display, and when surfing web content, social media, or other media, you will see a benefit.
The display has a 144Hz refresh rate which adjusts the usage of the user giving a smooth experience. Although the phone comes with 500 nits brightness, you may face difficulties using it under direct sunlight. It supports HDR10 with Dolby Vision which makes it easy to play OTT and YouTube content.
Camera
The Redmi K50i has a triple camera on the back, which includes a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera. You will get a 16 MP selfie camera on the front.

Rear Camera Series
While most smartphone cameras provide a 50 MP main camera in a budget range, Xiaomi took a bold move with a 64 MP wide camera featuring an aperture of f/1.9, a sensor size of 1/1.72-inch, and 0.8µm. It works great in good lighting and gives a clear full detailed image.
However, you may not get the expected performance in the dark. But you will get a slightly better image using a dedicated night mode setup. However, sometimes the dedicated night mode may make the image look artificial.
The camera’s shutter speed is fast and responsive, and there is very little delay in processing the image. Coming up to an 8 MP ultrawide lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 120-degree field-of-view. It secures average clicks with minimal detail and very few distortions. Dynamic range is virtually acceptable, and there are a couple of clicks that come out with a lot of noise.

The 2MP macro sensor comes with an aperture of f/2.4. It is fine for close-up images, but that is about it. It doesn’t provide good picture quality and should be used at your discretion. There are options for shooting modes, such as Auto, Portrait, and Long Exposure. Bursts, clones, and other features will make the photography even more appealing.
Front Camera
When using the 16 MP wide selfie lens featuring f/2.5 aperture, the phone captures pictures that appear natural and capture lively skin tones. During the daytime, the camera uses a reddish hue that makes the user appear as if the person is wearing makeup.
If the beautification mode is off, then the skin tone comes naturally. The selfies look enhanced here, but the quality of detail is preserved. Xiaomi could make the selfie lens better.

Video Capacity
The rear primary sensor can shoot up to 4K footage at 30fps. You can capture 1080p videos at 30fps or 60fps. While with a selfie camera you can capture 1080p videos at 30fps.
Performance
The Xiaomi K50i 5G smartphone is based on the Dimensity 8100 5nm chipset by MediaTek that makes the daily routine a breeze. The graphic unit is enriched with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.
Multiple functions are handled without issue, even if various apps run simultaneously in the background. Switching between applications is seamless, and apps open and load quickly.

Paired together with 8GB RAM, the smartphone is significantly faster and smoother, and 256GB storage offers ample space to store whatever content you like. However, you can buy other variations, too, such as 128GB 6GB RAM and 128GB 8GB RAM.
Redmi K50i runs MIUI 13 out of the box using the Android 12 OS. This smartphone likewise permits you to customize it by playing around with wallpapers, widgets, and applications. It comes with plenty of bloatware, so make sure you uninstall them to get a faster experience if you don’t need them. However, the good thing is that there is no adware.
Redmi K50i has dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos sound. The sound quality is good, but low and mid frequencies lack depth and richness. The bottom speaker sounds slightly better than the one on top, but overall, both of them could have been significantly better. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack for old-school listeners.

realme C33 Review: Key specs, pros, and cons
realme started its journey in the smartphone industry as a subsidiary of BBK electronics. It’s the same company that owns Oppo and OnePlus. Since its inception, the brand has focused on producing budget smartphones. realme emphasizes the concept that phones don’t have to be expensive to be good. Holding this legacy, realme launched its ultra-budget offering, the relame C33 on November 08 in Bangladesh. Here’s our detailed take on the device.
Key Specifications of realme C33
Design and Build Quality
The dimensions of realme C33 are 164.2 by 75.7 by 8.3mm. It weighs about 187g.
The realme C33 shines the most in this section. realme has always been big on design elements and even their ultra-budget offering doesn’t miss out here. Even though the C33 has a plastic build all around, it boasts refinements in every department.
Read More: 10 Smart TVs Under Tk50000 in Bangladesh
The boxy design is complemented by two large vertical camera sensors on the back. The back itself is s mixture of glittering glossy reflective finish. It’s sure to grab anyone’s attention.
Moving to the ports and button selection, everything is in place including the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The fingerprint sensor also stays on the power button and the sim tray makes way for a micro SDXC slot along with two dedicated sim slots.
But the most glaring letdown here is the micro-USB charging. Hardly any phone these days uses micro-USB and it's increasingly becoming obsolete by 2022 standard. Yet somehow realme still went with one.
Read More: Walton Orbit Y50 4G Review: Does it offer value for money
There’s also no secondary noise cancellation mic on the C33. This might hamper the call quality a bit but that’s understandable given the price constraints. Overall, other than the micro-USB everything felt right on par with the price for the C33.
The Display
The budget smartphone market almost universally uses 720P IPS LCD panels on their devices and the C33 is no different. The smartphone features the same in a 6.5-inch screen with a bit over 82% screen-to-body ratio and a standard 270 PPI density.
While that doesn’t really say much about the quality, it still holds decent numbers for its price. In testing, the device was accurate with the colors and overall sharpness. Viewing angles are also good without any noticeable color shifting. It feels like realme did a better job at calibrating the panel compared to several of its counterparts in this specific segment.
Read More: Xiaomi Redmi A1+ Review: Budget phone with fingerprint sensor
The peak brightness of the display is rated at 400 nits which is about average in its class. The display looks sufficiently good indoors but you will notice glares and readability issues under direct sunlight.
So, will this display be perfect for media consumption? Not really. But it will get the job done as a daily driver.
The Camera
In its initial days, budget and mid-range devices were focused on the number of sensors rather than the actual quality of images. The result was a cheeky marketing bias with little to no performance-backed substance. But that bias is slowly changing.
Read More: vivo Y22s 4G Review: Will it survive competition?
C33 has a dual-lens camera setup with a 50 MP wide-angle primary shooter and the accompanying one is a 0.3MP depth sensor. This simple setup not only helped the device to maintain a clean look but also allowed realme to focus on what matters the most, the quality of images.
The result is satisfactory. The main sensor does an excellent job in outdoor conditions. the color contrast and dynamic range are well-exposed and well-balanced. The pictures appear to be on the warmer side in a typical realme fashion. But that doesn’t take away from the fact it produces some of the best images in the mid-range category.
The performance slightly drops in indoor and artificial lighting conditions. Though that’s an expected phenomenon at this point. The dedicated night mode on the C33 does a good job of properly exposing the subject and smoothening out the extra noise and grains.
Read More: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Review: Can it fulfil users’ expectations
The selfie camera also performs well for a generic 5 MP shooter.
The videography of the C33 is limited to just 1080P at 30 fps for primary rear camera. While the selfie ca,era can shoot 720p footage at 30fps. The quality of videos aren’t much satisfactory as in absence of external or internal stabilization.
Processor and Performance
One of the biggest cut corners in a budget to lower mid-range devices is the processor. Unfortunately, the story is the same with realme C33. Instead of going for an entry-level Snapdragon or Helio processor, realme went with the Unisoc Tiger T612 processor based on the 12 nm architecture.
Read More: Infinix Zero Ultra Review: Worth the hype?
The octa-core processor has a chip design of 2 1.8 GHz Cortex-A75 and 6 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 with Mali-G57 GPU. The T612 is a basic processor designed for lightweight day-to-day tasks.
The realme C33 may not come with a robust processor. Still you can play game on this device. The C33 can even handle 3D titles in low graphics settings. Though the phone does get heated up quite easily.
Another problem is the architecture itself. 12 nm isn’t really an efficient design anymore with a general entry-level standard shifting to 6 nm slowly. So the device suffers a bit of RAM management issues here and there.
Read More: realme C30 Review: An entry-level phone with smooth performance
The realme C33 runs on the realme UI S operating system on top of Android 12. The ram capacity of different variants range from 3 to 4G; while the internet stogae capacity may reach up to 64GB starting from 32GB. This device features UFS 2.2 data transfer technology. It’s External Memory can be increased up to 1TB.
Battery and Charge Time
The realme C33 comes equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. While it may sound a lot, the high-consumption chipset allows for about 6 to 8 hours of continued usage on a full charge.
To add to that, there aren’t any fast-charging options on the C33 so charging with its 1oW charger would be a cumbersome affair.

realme C33's Official Price in Bangladesh
The realme C33 is available in 32/3GB RAM, 64/4GB RAM, and 128/4GB RAM configurations. However, the pre-order option is only valid for the 32/3GB variant as it is the only available model right now. The Price of the variant is 12,999 BDT.
Final Words
The competition and saturation in the ultra-budget segment of smartphones have always been high. So the choice for the perfect smartphone in this category often comes down to the overall design and aesthetics as most brands offer more or less the same internals.
To wrap it up, realme delivers in the lower mid-range or entry-level segment with the C33. While it still may have some drawbacks in the processor and the screen, it more than makes up the camera department. Plus, the realme UI S has also been streamlined to be much more like Android Go which is another welcomed addition.

Overall, the realme C33 can be a good value choice for those looking for a daily beater device at a budget price.

Walton Orbit Y50 4G Review: Does it offer value for money
Walton has been a market leader when it comes to consumer electronics in Bangladesh for a long time now. The company ventured into the phone market almost a decade ago with its own line of feature phones. Over the years, the company manifested itself in the smartphone industry from entry-level to high-end phones. In line with their commitment, the brand recently launched the Walton Orbit Y50 on 27th September 2022 in the Bangladeshi market. Here’s a detailed take on the device.
Key Specifications of Walton Orbit Y50
Design and Build Quality
It's every bit generic smartphone design as we have seen previously from Walton. It is not necessarily a bad thing.
The dimensions of Y50 are 173.5 by 78.5 by 9.3mm. It weighs 212g including the battery. Not to mention the phone is a bit heavier than the similarly priced competitors from international brands.
Read More: Xiaomi Redmi A1+ Review: Budget phone with fingerprint sensor
The Y50 boasts rounded edges with a texture-like plastic back and a vertical camera housing. The back also houses the fingerprint scanner, one that is increasingly becoming obsolete in the back position.
On the front, there is a glass display. the display isn’t rated for protection. But that is understandable given the price it comes at. While the bezels and chin might feel a bit thick by 2022 standards, it is what you get for what you pay.
All the other ports and buttons stay in their usual place on the Y50. The 3.5 mm jack has been housed on the top of the device with the sim tray and micro SDXC slot finding their place on the right of the device.
Read More: vivo Y22s 4G Review: Will it survive competition?
Overall, the design and build quality of the Y50 won’t blow anyone away. But for its price, it’s a perfectly functional design with daily usage in mind.
Display
Walton Orbit Y50 sports a 17.3cm or 6.82-inch IPS V-Drop Display that features a 20:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D Glass construction.
The display of the Orbit Y50 is an HD+ IPS IN-CELL display. Walton calls it their full-lamination V-drop display. That’s just a fancy way of naming the TFT tech and the waterdrop notch on the screen.
Read More: Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 12 series: Can it hold the legacy?
For its price, the choice of IPS IN-CELL is understandable. Walton did a better tuning with their display this time around as it looks much more vivid and sharp compared to other similar devices.
However, the viewing angles aren’t all that great. There are noticeable color shifts along with flickering if you view the display from the sides. The brightness levels are also average and even though the display is fully laminated, you would still see a strong glare under direct sunlight.
It’s clear that the Y50 won’t be the perfect media consumption device. But for day-to-day use, it will get the job done regardless.

Camera
The Orbit Y50 boasts a triple camera setup on the back. Walton claims it to be an AI camera which is again, their fancy way of naming the object detection tech included in the main sensor.
Even though there are three sensors on the back, the main 13 MP sensor does all the heavy lifting. In fact, Walton doesn’t even provide any information regarding the accompanying secondary cameras.
Coming to picture quality, the pictures look sharp and detailed in outdoors and well-lit environments. The portrait mode also works well to detect the edges and properly expose the subject.
Read More: OPPO F21s Pro Review: What new features does it offer?
But the problem starts in artificial lighting conditions. Even though Walton claims that the main sensor has a larger aperture, it still fails to properly expose subjects every now and then. This leads to underexposed and grainy shots at night.
The story is similar to the front 8 MP camera as well. It produces passable results but nothing out of the ordinary.
The videography of the Y50 is limited to 1080P at 30 fps. But without any internal and external stabilization features, the video ends up looking shaky and out of focus at times.
Read More: Infinix Zero Ultra Review: Worth the hype?
Processor and Performance
The Orbit Y50 comes with an Helio A22 chipset based on the ARM Cortex A53 chip design. At its core, it has an octa-core chip design with 6 mid-range and 2 high-performing cores. The CPU is complemented by PowerVR Rogue GE8300 GPU.
The processor performs just as it does on paper. It’s a through-and-through entry-level processor designed for basic day-to-day tasks like social media browsing or YouTube. But does that mean you can't game on it? Fortunately, you can.
Even graphics-intensive titles like Asphalt 9 and PUBG run well without a hiccup on low graphics settings. If you go for more than that, the device will heat up really fast and thermal throttling will kick in.
Read More: Tecno Pova 4 Pro Review: Budget gaming phone with a massive battery
The device also has a modest RAM of just 4 GB with 64 GB onboard storage. Given the RAM capabilities, it would be best not to push heavy gaming on this device.
However, one of the positives of this device is that it comes with Android 12 out of the box. Even though it's not the latest one, users can expect to get the 13 sometime in the future.
Battery and Charge Time
The Walton Orbit Y50 comes with a 4200 mAh battery. The large battery compared with an entry-level display and power consumption makes this device good enough to run for 8 to 10 hours at a stretch.
Read More: vivo V25, V25e Review: Is the Price Difference Justified?
However, charging the device would be a hassle as there is no provision for fast charging on this device.
Official Price of Walton Orbit Y50 in Bangladesh
Walton has officially launched a single variant of 4/64 GB in metallic gold, baby blue, and pine green color. The price of the device is currently 12,999 BDT. However, the price is subject to change.
Final Words
Walton is a local brand and the Y50 is an ultra-budget device. Being a local brand, Walton can incorporate features and experiences on the Y50 which would otherwise be impossible for any sub 15K BDT device. So when you look at the features and specs, bear in mind the value proposition it brings to the table.
Read More: Top 10 phones coming to Bangladesh in November 2022
The Orbit Y50 doesn’t really reinvent the wheel; rather it takes the existing features of a great entry-level phone and repackages it with a refreshed design. The battery, hardware, and software experience are definitely its highlight. However, in a classic entry-level fashion, the device does fall short in the display and the camera department.
So if you aren’t bothered by an above-average display and a mediocre camera, then Walton Orbit Y50 is sure to be worth every penny.
Xiaomi Redmi A1+ Review: Budget phone with fingerprint sensor
The Chinese electronics company Xiaomi’s subsidiary company Redmi was first introduced in July 2013 as a low-cost smartphone line. In 2019 it was separated into a sub-brand of Xiaomi to produce entry-level to mid-range Smartphones and gadgets. A1+ debuts in September 2022 under Redmi's entry-level lineup 'A' series. Let’s take a look at the specs, advantages, and limitations of Redmi A1+.
Key Features of Xiaomi Redmi A1+
Design and Features
The Xiaomi Redmi A1+ has preserved the dimensions of 164.9 x 76.8 x 9.1 mm or 6.49 x 3.02 x 0.36 in. It weighs 192 g. and has two SIM cards. It has a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm jack. The WLAN communications such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspots, and so on are also there. It supports Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. It has GPS, as well as A-GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, and BDS.
The phone bears a fingerprint scanner at the upper mid portion of the backside. It is probably the first smartphone in the international market to offer a fingerprint sensor. The rear side of the phone is made of premium-category plastic. It has a leather texture that gives an utmost elegant look. The back side also rooms a dual camera with a flashlight at the left upper corner of the phone.

There are three color options available for the Redmi A1, including light green, dark black, and light blue. For the purpose of this review, we used the option with the light green color, and we found that the natural hue pairs well with the simple design of the smartphone.
Display
The 6.52-inch IPS screen on the front of the device offers a typical 60 Hz refresh rate and an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The display has a 120 Hz touch-sampling rate, a 400-nit screen brightness, and glass that resists scratches to safeguard the screen. Additionally, the front of the device sports a notch that houses a 5 MP selfie camera. On the phone, there is no fingerprint reader.
If you want to use it to view SD video, the display is fairly good. The display has a ceiling that it reaches rather early, and there isn't much more you can do with it after that. The outcomes were in line with what one would expect from a budget smartphone when we viewed videos on YouTube, Netflix, and Hotstar. Not really unique, but excellent for the cost.

In addition, the display is capable of reaching a maximum brightness of 400 nits and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Although the sensation of scrolling is satisfactory, the haptic stimulation has been turned up to a significant degree. It's possible that you'll need to spend some time configuring the phone in order to fix that issue.
Camera
The cameras on the Redmi A1 Plus are similarly more focused on getting the job done than on wowing users with their quality or capabilities. When the lighting conditions are favorable, the 8-megapixel primary sensor on the rear of the device produces shots of satisfactory quality. It even does a respectable job with portrait photos (aided by the secondary 0.3-megapixel snapper on the back).
If you do not go into this situation expecting top-of-the-line colors and detail, you will not be disappointed. Instead, you will end up with snapshots that are excellent enough to post on social media and send in emails and texts.

Videos are, at most, suitable for sharing on social media, although there is a useful time-lapse mode available. When there is not enough light, either still or moving images will have worse quality.
Even while the color reproduction of the 5-megapixel front-facing camera is not quite up to grade, if you take your selfies in well-lit environments, you will have photos that are worthy of being shared.
This is not a camera for serious photographers; rather, it is a point-and-shoot model in the traditional sense. If you take enough precautions, you should be able to get passable results. Perhaps even the odd one out that stands out.

Performance and Hardware
The Redmi A1 Plus is driven by a chipset identified as a MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22. The performance of this processor is satisfactory when it comes to carrying out fundamental activities like navigating the internet, making video calls, utilizing navigation, and many other activities. 32 gigabytes (GB) of storage space is provided, and 3 GB of RAM.
The Redmi A1 Plus utilizes Android 12 GO, which is an operating system developed by Google specifically for use in low-cost smartphones. On top of this operating system, you won't find much evidence of MIUI at all. The user interface is rather uncluttered, and with the exception of Facebook Lite, the phone does not have any bloatware applications.
We put the smartphone's graphics processing unit, or GPU, to the test by playing some light games like Subway Surfers, Candy Crush, and Clash Royale. The handset features a PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

As soon as we were satisfied with the smartphone's overall performance, we fired up Garena Free Fire Max and got to playing. Even though there were some delays, the phone performed a good job of providing a gaming experience that was excellent.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi A1 Plus features a battery pack with a capacity of 5,000 mAh. As it is combined with the phone's basic hardware and operating system, results in extremely long battery life.
The smartphone's battery was easily able to last for two days with moderate use, which included sending and receiving messages on WhatsApp, browsing the web, listening to music, taking pictures, and watching nearly two hours of content each day. If you use the battery backup system more sparingly, you should have no problem reaching three days.

Price of Redmi A1+ in Bangladesh
The Xiaomi Redmi A1 Plus is not yet available officially in Bangladesh. In the Indian market, the phone costs INR 7,499 or BDT 9253. The conversion rate here is 1 INR = 1.23 BDT. However, the official price of Redmi A1+ in Bangladesh may vary due to tax and other issues.
Conclusion
In this phone, the manufacturer has included all of the necessary features that consumers anticipate seeing on an affordable smartphone without sacrificing the device's overall performance. A few features like the chin and bezel width and the VGA camera on the rear could be improved for a better experience.

vivo Y22s 4G Review: Will it survive competition?
The smartphone market for entry-level to lower mid-range has always been filled with competition. vivo has been a key player in this market with its range of devices, especially the Y series. The series first debuted in 2019 with the vivo Y3. Over the years there have been several additions to cater to the dynamic needs. vivo’s latest Y series phone Y22s was launched on 23rd August 2022 globally. Now, it is available in Bangladesh. Here’s our detailed take on the key features of the vivo Y22s so that you can decide whether to go for it or not.
Key Specifications of vivo Y22s
Design and Build Quality
The design elements of the vivo Y22s are reminiscent of its previous generation, the Y21s. There is a similar brushed-back design with diffused reflection making it look much more premium than its price class. It also does an excellent job of repelling fingerprint smudges and overall wear and tear.
However, the build is still plastic. The phone features plastic all around with an unrated glass front. At this price point, the choice of a premium design with a plastic build is not surprising. And it shouldn’t bother you much if you put in a case on the device.
Read More: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Review: Know the Pros and Cons
The dimensions of vivo Y22s are 164.3 by 76.1 by 8.4 mm. The device weighs about 192g.
Moving on to ports and buttons, the Y22s features all the essentials. The 3.5 mm headphone jack still stays right beside the secondary mic and the bottom-firing speaker. The left of the device features the sim slot along with the dedicated micro SDXC slot. The right side features the volume rocker and the power button which also doubles as the biometric sensor.
The overall design and the build quality of the Y22s are satisfactory. However, the only drawback might be its front design which has rather thick bezels and chins compared to the 2022 standards.

Display
Perhaps the most visible letdown of the Y22s is its display. While it might seem like a stretch, for its price vivo should’ve included better hardware in the display department. Considering this is the primary contact point between the user and the device.
The Y22s features a 6.55-inch 720P IPS LCD panel with 270 PPI density. It has a resolution of 720 by 1612 pixels. The choice of IPS LCD is still understandable, but considering that vivo has priced the device in the mid-range segment, it definitely should’ve included FHD+ resolution or a faster refresh rate.
Many of vivo’s competitors offer the same along with AMOLED at this price point. Speaking of the display itself, it doesn’t have the weird color shift or blue tint like that of other HD+ LCDs. However, that’s the only good thing.

The colors on the device look a bit washed out and the lack of vibrancy is even more noticeable because of the lower resolution. The display does get relatively bright in both indoor and outdoor use but it’s no match for direct sunlight as you will notice glares even with max brightness.
Overall, the display could’ve definitely been better on the Y22s. What it brings to the table is passable but it definitely won’t be the key selling point of the device.
Camera
The vivo Y22s features a dual camera system. This might seem like a downgrade from the previous generation which had a triple-camera setup. But there’s more than meets the eyes.

The main sensor of the vivo Y22s is a 50 MP ( f/1.8) wide-angle shooter. This is the same main sensor found on the Y21s. the Y21s had an additional 2 MP depth and macro sensors. This Year vivo dropped the depth sensor and kept the 2 MP (f/2.4) macro shooter for a dual camera setup.
Moving on to the performance of the cameras, the main sensor steals the show here. The pictures look great in outdoor condition with decent lighting. For a mid-range smartphone, the camera was surprisingly good at capturing the dynamic range and details.
The portraits however were a hit or a miss. Sometimes it captured great details along with proper edge detection. But other times the subject wasn’t properly exposed.

The exposure issues become even more apparent indoors or in dimly lit environments. The Y22s also suffer from grains and noises in any form of artificial light.
The videography of the phone is limited to 1080P at 30 fps.
The front side offers a generic 8 MP (f/2.0) shooter which gets the job done. It can capture 1080p footage at 30fps.
Processor and Performance
Moving on to the processor, the vivo Y22s features a Snapdragon 680 4G chipset based on the 6nm architecture. The 680 chip from snapdragon is the perfect mid-range chipset which has been a reliable choice for a few years now. The processor’s graphic unit is equipped with an Adreno 610 GPU.

Similar reliability is reflected in the performance as well. Although not touted to be a gaming phone, the Y22s can handle gaming pretty well. Especially titles like COD, PUBG, and Asphalt 9 play at the highest settings without any hiccups. The only problem here is that the device does get heated up after quite some time of continued gaming.
For day-to-day task, the Y22s performs like a breeze. The Funtouch OS also came a long way from its initial days to be more streamlined and responsive. Overall, the performance of the Y22s justifies the price it comes at.
Battery and Charge Time
The vivo Y22s comes equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. Combine this with the moderate display and the device can easily last around 8-10 hours of continued usage. The device also supports 18W wired fast charging which vivo claims can go from 0 to 70% in 70 minutes.

Official Price of vivo Y22s in Bangladesh
The Y22s is available in two variants – the 6/128 GB one and the 8/128 GB configuration. Currently, the 6/128 GB variant is officially available in Bangladesh. The price of the device is 21,999 BDT and can be currently pre-ordered. However, the price is subject to change.
Verdict
The vivo Y22s checks a lot of the boxes when it comes to affordable mid-range devices. It has got a good camera, a decent battery, and a durable build with stylish looks. However, the one aspect that will bother any user is the display. Other than that, the vivo Y22s smartphone seems to be a standard phone for average day-to-day tasks.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Review: Know the Pros and Cons
Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi launched four new phones, Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro+, and Note 12 Explorer, under its latest Redmi Note 12 series on November 1 in China. The phones are expected to be launched in Bangladesh and other Asian countries by the end of November. Let’s take a look at the key specs of the Redmi Note 12 Pro.
Key Features of Redmi Note 12 Pro
Design
The Note 12 Pro represents a continuation of the previous generation’s design. The front screen with a flat back panel and a straight-back frame basically resembles the design of the Note 11T Pro. But 12 Pro has a larger, more powerful camera module. It comes in four colors, black, blue, white, violet or purple.
The side still includes a power button that functions as a fingerprint too. On the top, you will get an IR emitter, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and NFC. However, the SIM card slot does not function with TF cards.

The 187g weight, as well as the 7.9 mm width, contributes to the Note 12 Pro feeling like a lightweight device despite its 162.9 by 76 height and length. Note 12 Pro should get a very high score for its form factor at a mid-range.
Display
The Note 12 screen looks the same as the one on the 11 Pro, but there are some small upgrades. A larger 6.67-inch OLED display uses a smaller bezel, which yields the most noticeable difference between those two devices. It looks more beautiful than average mid-range phones do from the front. The quality of the screen is excellent and creates a diamond-quality pixel.
The display’s resolution is 1080 × 2400 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate. It uses a 1920Hz pulse-width modulation dimming in low brightness and supports Dolby Vision (900 nits peak brightness). The quality of this screen is best in the same price range.

Hardware
Performance on the Note 12 Pro’s weaker side comes from using the Dimensity 1080 chip, a 6nm mid-range MediaTek chip. Both AnTuTu and 3DMark are showing very similar ratings to the prior Generation Dimensity 920 with a 968,607 AnTuTu score.
The graphic unit is enriched with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. The phone runs on MIUI 13 OS on top of Android 12.
Ultimately, you can evaluate the level of performance of a chip when you visit the framerate information for each video game. Of course, it’s no problem for PUBG on a mobile device. As per Genshin Impact, its average fps was less than 40, which is not an excellent performance.

So, it is better to buy Dimensity 8100 phone if you prefer a better chip. So, Note 12 Pro falls behind the Note 11T pro in hardware comparison.
Storage
Although you cannot add an external memory card, the four memory variation should be good enough for you. Note 12 Pro comes with 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, and 256GB 12GB RAM version. But you might not get all the versions in Bangladesh.
Here you get UFS 2.2 data transfer technology.

Camera
Redmi focuses on the camera of Note 12 Pro. However, it does not use the latest 200MP main camera. But Redmi emphasizes filters and Art frames. Seven new filters have been added to the Note 12 series, all of which make photos appear grainy while altering the color.
Moreover, some scenes may look excellent on these filters, making them great for film photography. So, this phone is recommended for people who enjoy photography.
Rear Camera Series
The back camera includes a 50 MP wide-angle main camera that features an f/1.9 aperture, 24mm lens width, and 1/1.56-lens size. This sensor has introduced a new optical image stabilizer this time.
Read More: Infinix Zero Ultra Review: Worth the hype?
The sensor part has also become larger, so the video recordings or photos in dim light have improved over the previous context. In particular, the 2x magnification is just fine with handshakes, even as the recent 5x magnification has no shaking in the dark as it was before with previous models.
Now the night vision setting is even more fun. It does not improve the dynamic range but just lowers the highlights and darkens the dark portions. Consequently, it makes night scenes more enjoyable and relaxing without noise. Some scenes demand stronger highlights, and it can cause unwanted exposure, just like a neon box, which doesn’t look as good as the automatic mode.
And oftentimes, the color temperature is too cool, so it can be difficult to take a good photo at night with the Note 12 Pro if you lack expertise and skill.

Besides, Note 12 Pro’s rear camera series includes an 8 MP ultrawide camera featuring an aperture of f/1.9, 119˚ (ultrawide) field-of-view, and 1/4" lens size. It also has a 2 MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. However, the macro camera performance is not the best. It is not recommended for frequent use.
Front Camera
On the front side, Redmi Note 12 Pro sports a 16 MP (wide) selfie sensor. Its sensor size is 1/3.06-inch and 1.0µm.
Video Capacity
The video recording quality has improved significantly than Note 11 Pro. Because its ability to stabilize video recordings is improved by the addition of OIS. But additionally, by taking into consideration other smartphones with EIS, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro’s recording is not superior.

The highest camera shooting parameters on the Note 11 Pro are 4K 30fps for the main camera and 1080P 30fps for the ultra-wide camera, which are the same in the Note 11 Pro.
With the front camera, you can shoot 1080p footage at 30 or 60fps.
Battery and Charging
The Note 12 Pro comes with 67w charging power for a 5000mAh battery. However, it is 20g lighter than Note 11 Pro, and the battery is 160mAh smaller. Since the phone might give you a reduced performance, the battery life should be long-lasting. Therefore, it is a good improvement over 11 Pro+.

Redmi Note 12 Pro’s Price
The Redmi Note 12 Pro’s 128GB 6GB RAM version will cost $299 in China, which is equivalent to Tk30,688 ($1= BDT. 102.64). However, the official price of Redmi Note 12 Pro in Bangladesh may vary due to tax and other issues.
Final Words
While the four models of Xiaomi’s latest Redmi Note 12 series are different, they share some identical features, such as a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and 900 nits peak brightness. The display also supports Dolby Vision, HDR 10, 10-bit color, and HDR 10+. All these models are powered by Dimensity 1080 chipset. But there are some significant differences too, but Note 12 Pro seems promising.
Note 12 Pro is great for photographers and regular gamers. So, if you want the play regular games rather than 3D games, this phone is for you as you are getting a long-lasting massive battery. Redmi Note 12 should also be great for fashion enthusiasts as the back colors are fascinating.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Review: Can it fulfil users’ expectations
Xiaomi released its Redmi Note 12 series on October 27 in China. This series has 4 models, including Note 12, pro, Pro+, and Explorer Edition. Note 12 is the basic model in the Redmi Note 12 lineup. Although Note 12 serves as a starting point for the Redmi Note 12 series and provides the greatest bargain for certain customers, it is far from a low-end device. It has a few good features with some drawbacks. Let’s take a look at whether Redmi Note 12 can fulfill the expectations of the Xiaomi fans.
Key Features of Xiaomi Redmi Note 12
Design
The Redmi Note 12 is a masterpiece in this area, as Xiaomi has essentially mastered the art of making its phones seem to be flagships. While choices from manufacturers like Nokia and Motorola make a valiant effort, they tend to have a certain clunky feel that Xiaomi continually avoids with its tiny budget phones.
The 6.67-inch screen dominates the front, which has very tiny bezels all the way around. The "chin" has a somewhat larger frame, but even so, it is still just a few centimeters thick. There is very little area utilized for anything other than the screen because of a tiny notch at the very top of the display in the middle.

the dimensions are 165.9 by 76.2 by 8 mm. Weighing 188g Note 12 won’t feel much heavy. It bears dual SIM. IP53 grade splash and dust resistance make the device more user-friendly.
The stylishness is seen on both sides. Even though it is slightly prone to smearing, the smooth plastic is pleasant to hold and gradually slopes toward the corners. A sizable rectangle in the upper left corner perfectly encloses the dual-camera array.
Display
The screen of the Redmi Note 12 is a 6.67-inch OLED device with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 or 409 pixels per inch. It is also capable of 120Hz refresh rates, however, you have to choose this option since 60Hz is the default.

And except for one aspect, it's a great screen. With a volume of 95.8%, it shows a complete spectrum of colors in an accurate and brilliant manner and covers 95.4% of the sRGB gamut. Despite using OLED technology, it still has a good 428cd/m2 brightness level, making it legible unless on the brightest of days. Due to OLED technology, contrast is also excellent.
All of this results in a screen that is on par with others in this price range (and several above it), but there is one peculiar aspect. The text on the menus sometimes drags and appears in two locations at once for a little period of time, making the text look as if it can't keep up with the pace of screen refresh.
Camera
Depending on your perspective, the Redmi Note 12's inclusion of no less than 2 cameras on the rear is impressive—or too ambitious. There is just a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor in addition to the wide 48MP primary camera. The main sensor features a 0.8 nichrome lens size.

On paper, everything seems great, but the pudding is the true test, and to stretch the analogy too far, this dessert is noticeably underdone or more accurately, undersaturated.
On the front side, the Note 12 sports an 8MP wide selfie camera featuring an aperture of f/2.0, with a 1/4" and 1.12µm lens size. The 8MP front-facing camera exhibits the under-saturation issue while taking selfies.
With the main rear camera, you can shoot 1080p footage at 30 or 60fps; while the selfie camera allows you to capture 1080p footage at 30fps.

Performance and Software
Things have been going rather well up until now, but they are about to take a turn for the worst.
The scores gave a rather mixed image of the capabilities of the Qualcomm Snapdragon, despite the fact that the Redmi Note 12 feels absolutely quick while surfing the internet and switching between apps. The processor used is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 6nm chipset, and it is accompanied by Adreno 619 GPU.
Note 12 has up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. Its variants are 4/128GB, 6/128GB 6GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB. The device features UFS 2.2 data transfer technology.

To evaluate the gaming performance of Redmi Note 12 we have done 3D testing. It has almost half the performance of the similarly priced competitor phones.
Battery and Charger
A battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh is considered to be rather ample; the only time you'll need to go for a charger throughout the day is if you're engaging in energy-intensive activities such as gaming or GPS navigation.
It's remarkable that after an hour of watching a streaming video with the volume turned down and the brightness turned all the way up, the battery only dropped by five percent despite these extreme conditions.
Read More: Infinix Zero Ultra Review: Worth the hype?
Because of its low price point, the Redmi Note 12 does not support wireless charging, which is to be anticipated in a device of this kind. On the other hand, the wired 33W charging works quite great, and you can get a full charge on this phone in a little over an hour if you start from zero. There is no cause for concern with regard to the charge of the battery or the duration of its use.
Price of Redmi Note 12 in Bangladesh
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 is not available in Bangladesh officially, yet. In the China market, it costs 1199 yuan or BDT 16,846. The conversion rate here is 1 Yuan = 14.05 Taka. However, the official price of Redmi Note 12 in Bangladesh may vary due to tax and other issues.
Conclusion
Though Note 12, like any other cheap phone, is a negotiated settlement, its design, screen, build quality, battery life, and other common features seem standard. However, its camera quality and general performance are where the users will notice the concessions in the price.
