Inter-ministerial workshop on SDGs, 7FYP plan held

Cox’s Bazar, Dec 7 (UNB) – A three-day inter-ministerial consultation workshop on integration of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) into the 7th Five Year (7FYP) Plan concluded here on Monday.
General Economics Division (GED) in collaboration with the Support to Sustainable and Inclusive Planning (SSIP) Project organized the event.
Senior Secretary and the Member of the GED Prof Dr Shamsul Alam spoke as the chief guest at the closing session of the workshop.
Chief, GED Naquib Bin Mahbub, Assistant Country Director, UNDP Palash Kanti Das and Project Manager, SSIP Project Fakrul Ahsan also attended.
Shamsul Alam said the ultimate goal of the both SDG and 7FYP is to eliminate extreme poverty. He hoped that this workshop will enhance the knowledge of the government officials for monitoring the SDG I the coming days.
The main purpose of the Inter-ministerial Consultation Workshop on Integration of SDGs into the 7th Five Year Plan was to compare the development targets of the 7th FYP laid out in the Development Result Framework (DRF) with the indicators and targets of SDGs and also to identify the gaps and recommend strategies in aligning the national plan with the SDGs.
