Housewife stabbed dead in Gazipur

Gazipur, Nov 19 (UNB) – A housewife was stabbed to death and two others critically injured by miscreants at Chalk Borohor village in Kapasia upazila on early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Rojina, 53, wife of Siddik Sheikh, resident of the village.
Ahsan Ullah, officer-in-charge of Kapasia Police Station, said a gang of miscreants numbering 12/13 entered the house of Siddique Sheikh at the village around 2:30am breaking open the door.
The gang stabbed Rojina, Siddique and their son Sumon indiscriminately, which left Rojina dead on the spot.
The gang also looted gold ornaments and cash from the house.
Critically injured Siddique and Sumon were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Family members of the house said Sumon had extra-marital relation with his elder bother expatriate Kamrul’s wife Shamima.
Later Sumon married Shamima.
Over the issue, there had been a longstanding dispute among the family members.
Rojina might have been killed over the issue, added the OC.
On information, police recovered the body.
Police also arrested three people including Shamima and her mother from the village.
