A fire started at a car servicing centre in Rajshahi city's Varendra College area early Friday and quickly spread to a nearby 10-storey building, fire service said.
The blaze gutted five cars of the servicing centre, some valuables and a restaurant on the second floor of the building.
One resident of the building was sent to the hospital as he fell sick after inhaling smoke.

Rafiqul Islam, assistant director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Rajshahi, said the fire originated from the servicing centre and engulfed the building around 4am.
"On information, 12 firefighting units responded to the fire at 4:20am and the responders could tame the flames after two hours. However, the extent of damage could not be confirmed immediately," he added.
