ABM Fazle Rabbi Chowdhury Manik, elder brother of Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways Ministry ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, passed away in a hospital in the port city on Thursday. He was 70.
Fazle Rabbi died of a cardiac arrest at Max Hospital around 11:40am.
His namaj-e-janaza will be held at Gahira College field at Raozan on Friday after Juma prayers.
Fazle Rabbi was third among the five sons and three daughters of AKM Fazlul Kabir Chowdhury, opposition leader in the provincial assembly of the then East Pakistan, and Sajeda Kabir Chowdhury.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Fazle Rabbi.
