India would send a formal proposal to the Industries Ministry and subject to Bangladesh accepting, a memorandum will hopefully be signed very soon to this, said a press release from the ministry.
An Indian delegation led by its food secretary expressed their interest in this regard during a meeting with Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at the ministry on Thursday.
Amu welcomed the proposal and said India’s National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has already collected certificates of some 21 goods from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
Test certificates of 12 more products were in the process of being obtained, said the industries minister and veteran Awami League politician.
He also asked the Indian side to collect the test certificates as soon as possible.
