In Kishoreganj, a man was awarded capital punishment for killing another man over the share of stolen money at Tarakandi village in Pakundia upazila on April 16, 2015.
The condemned convict was identified as Rajib, son of Sohrab Uddin of the village.
Additional District and Session’s Judge Pradip Chandra Roy delivered the verdict.
According to the prosecution, Rajib strangulated Sumon, 18, son of late Mahtab Uddin, to death following a dispute over the share of booty and dumped his body in a septic tank.
Victim’s mother filed a case with Pakundia Police Station in this regard.
In Khulna, a man was awarded life imprisonment as he killed his employer over a dispute over payment in Bilpabla area of Dumuria upazila on June 6, 2011.
The convict was identified as Jalil Sana of the area.
Khulna District and Session’s Judge Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury pronounced the judgment and also fined the convict Tk 20,000.
Jalil was repeatedly slapped by Shahin during a dispute over paying wage which instigated Jalil to take revenge.
Later on June 6, Jalil hit Shahin in the chest while he was sleeping at night, leaving him severely injured.
He was declared dead at hospital.
