Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation will accord its South Asian Games medalists at the gymnasium of the National Sports Council's (NSC) old building here on Tuesday.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Hasan Russell MP will present as chief guest on the occasion while Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports M Akhter Hossain, NSC Secretary Md Masud Karim, and Deputy Secretary Generals of Bangladesh Olympics Association (BOA) Ashiqur Rahman Miku and Asaduzzaman Kohonoor will present as special guests.
Bangladesh Taekwondo team clinched a total of 12 medals -- one gold and eleven bronze -- in the 13th SA Games held in December in Nepal.
Dipu Chakma won the first gold medal for Bangladesh in taekwondo. He beat the athletes from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Nepal in 29+ age group category in poomsae taekwondo event.
The Rangamati-born athlete scored 16.24 points in the event.
