Feni, Apr 8 (UNB) – A case was filed on Monday over setting on fire a female madrasa student.
Her elder brother Mahmudul Hasan filed the case with Sonagazi police around 3:30pm accusing four persons and their accomplices, said Officer-in-Charge Moazzem Hossain.
Police have arrested seven people - Mostafa Kamal, Nurul Amin, Ashraf, Saiful, Arif, Jasim and Alauddin – so far.
Nusrat Jahan Rafi was set afire allegedly by students loyal to Principal Sirajuddoula. She suffered 80 percent burns.
Rafi, currently being treated at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, was put on life support on Monday.
The principal was arrested on March 17 and subsequently suspended after she accused him of sexually harassing her.
The madrasa has been shut down until April 17, after the incident grabbed the headlines and sparked outrage across Bangladesh.
