The metrological department has predicted showers across the country in next 24 hours commencing 9 am.
According to a regular Met Office bulletin, “ Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna & Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over northern part of the country.”

The mercury reached 36.2 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Jashore, while the minimum temperature was recorded 22.5 degrees in Netrakona.
The Met Office recorded the highest 78mm rainfall in Tangail in 24 hours till 6am Tuesday.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, trough of low extends from Bihar to Gangetic West Bengal persists. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay, added the bulletin.
