In his message to Joe Biden, President Hamid said the existing relationship between Bangladesh and the United States is excellent.
He hoped that the ties between the two countries would reach a new height and expand in various fields, including trade and investment, under the leadership of the newly elected President of the United States.
“Your victory is certainly reflective of the trust and confidence the people of your great country have reposed on you. I am confident that with your leadership, dynamism and decades-long experience of public service, you would take your country and the people to a greater level of achievement. I am sure, Vice President-elect Honorable Kamala Harris, the first woman to hold this high office, will contribute significantly to translate your vision into reality,” said the President.
He also invited Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.
“Your visit to Bangladesh would not only provide a great impetus to the Bangladesh-U.S. relations, but also be an occasion for you to see the development miracles that Bangladesh has achieved in its journey towards realizing the vision of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who dreamt of freeing his people from the curses of hunger, poverty and discrimination,” said Hamid.
Hamid wished the newly-elected US President and Vice President a great success, good health and long life.
Biden will become the 46th President of the United States of America after he is sworn in on January 20 next.
