The BNP chief’s younger brother Shamim Eskandar and his wife Kaniz Fatema went to her residence Firoza in the morning with some cooked food and passed time with her until 1pm, said a member of her security force.
Later, he said Khaleda’s sister Selima Islam came and exchanged Eid greetings with her.
Besides, the BNP chief’s elder son Tanique Rahman, his wife, daughter, her late son Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife and two daughters talked to Khaleda over phone from abroad and exchanged greetings.
In the evening, BNP standing committee members also met Khaleda and wished her Eid Mubarak.
On March 25 last, Khaleda was released from jail for six months upon an executive order considering her age and humanitarian grounds.
The government passed the executive order for her release on two conditions -- receiving treatment staying at her Gulshan residence and not leaving the country.
Khaleda was sent to Old Dhaka Central Jail after she had been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment by a special court in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8, 2018.
