Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 Review: Is this flip phone worth buying?
Samsung is one of the most popular phone companies in the world, and their latest phone, the Galaxy Z Flip4, has quickly become a favourite. This phone is perfect for those who want an old-fashioned flip phone design but with a better Android experience. The Galaxy Z Flip4 was launched globally on August 26, 2022. Let’s see more details about Galaxy Z Flip4.
Key Features of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
Design
One of the great perks of Flip is that it is easily folded in half and will fit well into tiny areas. With Flip4’s new matte finish, it will be less worrisome for anyone to put the phone on top of adjacent items, or boxes of snack food, for example.
Although the primary screen size of the Flip4 is the same as that of its predecessor Flip 3, Samsung has managed to miniaturise its external dimensions. When the phone is folded, the logo-engraved hinge does not protrude quite as much as it did on the previous model; with a folded height reduced by 1.5 mm, thanks to the slimmer bezels.

There’s still a notable gap where the screen bends inward where the screen could be scratched or damaged. Like the Flip 3, Samsung also added the IPX8 water resistance feature, which is an impressive feature in the ever-growing foldable phone market.
In practical use, Flip4 proved capable of repelling scratches and scrapes over its gecko and metal frame, with a potentially minor resistance coming from dust particles.
Displays
The Flip4 is difficult to categorise due to its unique screen. It entails a diagonal measurement of 6.7 inches, and its surface aspect ratio of 22:9 makes it narrower and longer than most phones. Just like the usual Samsung mobile device, the Flip4 delivers rich colours and razor-sharp details, and you will surely love the 120-Hz refresh rate.

However, you may face a little issue with the viewing angles if you fold the phone slightly. But, looking straight will make everything clear.
The foldable dynamic AMOLED 2X display with HDR10+ and 1200 nits at peak will give you a smooth experience. Moreover, the 1080 x 2640 pixels resolution with ~426 PPI density will give you a soothing video-watching experience. The cover display comes with 260 x 512 pixels Gorilla Glass Victus+ and Super AMOLED 1.9 inches.
The cover display will be a great use to play music, and the display contains a default play button that will start the last song you listened to.

Cameras
There are three cameras on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, which at first glance resemble those on the Z Flip 3. Samsung has stated that a 12MP primary sensor on its latest Galaxy Z Flip4 enhances contrast by 65% from the one found on other Galaxy Z Flip 3 models. The 12MP ultrawide camera portrays the same feature as the 10 MP internal selfie cam the phone has. And the software has not changed notably compared to its old model.
The display’s 10MP (corresponding to f/2.4) punch-hole sensor sits in a central space, while the two sensors located above the cover are an OIS-supported main 12MP (corresponding to f/1.8) sensor and a 12MP (corresponding to f/2.2) ultrawide.
The apertures between Flip 3 and Flip4 are largely identical, and the only difference in the primary 12MP camera sensor is observed to be a slight widening, which improves the picture quality even more. The rest of the hardware and features remain identical to the Flip 3.

In addition to that, video digital image stabilisation (VDIS) and optical image stabilisation (OIS) are both improved with the introduction of the FlexCam mode; when the phone is held like the 1990s camcorder, the bezel swings to a 90-degree angle.
Performance
The Qualcomm Snapdragon and Exynos processors in many of Samsung’s first-class-brand products can be differentiated by performance, camera behaviour, and other attributes. Fortunately, none of your Exynos chips can be found in the new Galaxy Z Flip4 foldable phones, so performance will be more consistent wherever you are in the world.
While the Flip4 prioritises compactness over productivity, it does not reduce the Qualcomm 8 Plus’s performance. The chip found in the Android flagships Asus releases this year, such as the Zenfone 9, and the Taiwanese company’s gaming behemoth, the ROG Phone 6, is the same as what’s found in Android flagships by other device producers.
Read Motorola Moto G62 5G Review with Pros, Cons
The phone offers 8GM RAM across all the variations, while the internal memory features 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage. As with the Flip 3, the new model begins with 128GB of non-expandable (but speedy) UFS 3.1 storage, which boosts the phone’s speed.
Considering Flip 3 has already proven itself to be a valuable device, Z Flip4 should excel at satisfying the existing user base for many years to come. Additionally, Samsung’s promise of four years of Android OS updates and five years of security updates with the Z Flip4 makes a better long-term investment in a smartphone than most other flagships.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 comes with a 3,700mAH battery which is an improvement from the Flip 3’s 3,300mAh. You will get a 25W wired charging feature alongside the 15W wireless charging capability. Also, it is equipped with 4.5W reverse wireless charging features. So, you may get a day-long battery life with moderate use.

Price of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
Although Flip4 has launched globally, the Bangladeshi market will not get the phone right away. Samsung Bangladesh is taking preorders now. The price for the Bangladeshi market is not fixed yet, and the phone starts at $999 or BDT 95,393 ($1= BDT 95.49)
Final words
The Galaxy Z Flip4 has a 6.7-inch display and is powered by a Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor. It has several strengths, such as design, processor, and displays, that make it the perfect choice for stylish users. Its impressively compact design aims to offer standard performance. On the whole, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is the obvious choice for those after a clamshell foldable right now.

Bangladesh's smartphone market shrank 3% in Q2 2022: Counterpoint
Amid soaring inflation, Bangladesh's smartphone market shipments dropped 3 percent year-on-year in Q2 2022, according to Counterpoint Research's Market Monitor Service.
"Bangladesh's smartphone market experienced a good start with Eid celebrations during April. The month contributed almost half of the quarter's total shipment volumes," Karn Chauhan, senior analyst at Counterpoint, said.
"However, the volumes declined adversely in May and June due to smartphone costs rising by up to 10 percent on increasing component prices and the addition of VAT. The original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are expected to increase smartphone prices by up to another 20 percent in the coming months."
Bangladesh's feature phone shipments declined 12 percent year-on-year, mainly due to the shift towards smartphones, which resulted in a 9 percent year-on-year decline in the country's overall mobile handset market in Q2 2022.
In Q2 2022, Xiaomi secured the top spot in the smartphone segment and Samsung second spot with a 17.3 percent market share. Vivo took third place with a 10.1 percent share.
Symphony continued to be at the top position in the feature phone market.

Samsung Galaxy M13 5G Review: The Budget Samsung for 2022
The world of Samsung smartphones is as diverse as their appliances and home solutions. It's huge and has something for everybody. In pursuit of providing something for everyone, Samsung launched their M series, an online exclusive budget Samsung line back in 2019. Standing in 2022, the 4th generation M13 looks every bit as promising as its previous three generations. Samsung Galaxy M13 5G offers essential features and is a total bang for the buck. The device was officially released globally on 23rd July 2022. Let's look at its in-depth review.
Key Specifications of Samsung Galaxy M13 5G
Design and Build Quality
Before we start, keep in mind that this is an ultra-budget device geared for the most basic user. As a result, you won’t find any out-of-the-ordinary specs or features. Rather it's an amalgamation of average specs and performance to create value over cost. With that aside, let's dig into the design and build the quality of the device.
The design of the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G is plain and straightforward. There is a plastic frame and back with a Gorilla glass 3 protection on the front. All the usual ports and buttons are present here. In addition to the dual sim slots, there is an additional dedicated port for the micro SDXC. The volume rocker and the power button are also present. Just like last year, the power button doubles as the fingerprint scanner.
Overall, the design and the build quality feel sturdy and relative to the price.

The display
The display of the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G is a PLS LCD panel. Now PLS or LCD might sound outdated by the 2022 standard, but it's still the go-to choice for entry-level devices. The panel is a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution panel which is good for about 270 ppi.
With such average specs, one would think that the display isn't up to the par. But honestly given the price, it's hard to complain. Samsung is a market leader when it comes to displaying tech and even though the panel on the M13 5G is sub-par, it definitely stands above its competitors.
The display also gets relatively bright for an LCD panel. Outdoor legibility is pretty good. Users won't have to squint their eyes to figure stuff out in direct sunlight.
While this panel isn't exactly the best for media consumption, it still gets the job done. Usually, we don't see any rated glass protector in this price bracket. So, it's refreshing to see rated protection, even if it's a couple of generations older.

The Camera
Usually, we see a flurry of camera sensors in this price range. The main selling pitch is several lenses and a high battery capacity. But surprisingly enough, the M13 5G only comes with 2 sensors on the back.
The main sensor is a 50 MP f/1.8 wide-angle sensor and the other is a gimmicky 2 MP depth sensor. We are not sure whether the depth sensor does anything or not but the 50 MP main sensor does its job pretty well.
The pictures came out pretty good in outdoor conditions. Pictures looked sharp and crisp with high contrast and color pop. That's usually the case with Samsung post-processing. But the problem starts indoors and with artificial lights. Even though the sensor is a very capable one, the lack of processing power reduces the picture quality. Samsung night mode which is basically a longer shutter speed was consistent every time. We didn't notice any overexposure or underexposure issues.
The videography is clocked at 1080P at 30 fps. Again, the processing power is the limiting factor here. The front camera is a 5 MP one. It's a very basic sensor with basic performance. The front camera basically sums up the overall performance of the camera, it's nothing exceptional, but not bad either.

Processor and Performance
Samsung has partnered with MediaTek for the M series since its inception. The affordable chips have helped to keep the cost down over the years. The 4th generation M13 5G features MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 processor based on a 7 Nm architecture. The octa-core processor has 2 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 and 6 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 chip designs with Mali-G57 MC2 as the GPU.
The specs confirm that the M13 5G is meant for entry-level and casual usage. This is not a heavy gaming device by any means. Rather it's best suited for social media and web browsing with occasional media consumption.
Even though it's not a gaming device doesn't mean it can't handle gaming. You will be able to play demanding titles like COD and Genshin Impact at low settings. The device does get heated after about 30 odd minutes of gaming and throttling kicks in. But that's what comes with gaming on a basic processor.
The device comes with One UI 4 out of the box based on Android 12. One UI has come a long way from its bloatware-filled days to being one of the best Android skins out there.

Battery and Charge Time
The Samsung Galaxy M13 5G features a 5000 mAh battery. The large battery combined with an efficient processor makes the device last for a long time. Users will be comfortably able to get around 9 to 10 hours of SoT out of the device. The large battery is also complemented by 15 W fast charging. It still takes around 2 hours to fully charge the device, so be aware of that.
Price of Samsung Galaxy M13 5G
The Samsung Galaxy M13 5G hasn't been officially launched in Bangladesh yet. The 6/64GB base variant comes in at 9,999 INR in India which roughly translates to 11,971 BDT (1 INR = 1.20 BDT). However, the price may vary depending on several factors when it finally launches in Bangladesh.
Final Words
The Samsung Galaxy M13 5G is an all-around capable entry-level device. The design, glass protection, and camera are its main selling point. The device also does a terrific job with optimization and offers a seamless experience even in an entry-level processor. The only noticeable drawback has to be the display. Other than that, the Galaxy M13 5G can be a great option for anyone looking for a daily driver at an affordable price.

Samsung Galaxy F13 Review: Is it a good budget phone?
With over 23% singular market share across all mobile devices, Samsung is undoubtedly the largest mobile brand in the world. But this title didn’t limit their innovations in mid-range A-series or the flagship S-series . The strategic and inclusive approach of Samsung saw them producing smartphones and feature phones in every budget range. The company even has a dedicated line like the F-series for the ever-growing South Asian market. The latest from this line, the Samsung Galaxy F13 is slated to be launched in India on 29th June 2022. Here goes a detailed overview of this latest Samsung phone.
Key Specifications of Samsung Galaxy F13
Design and Build Quality
Unlike their upper mid-range and flagship devices, Samsung doesn’t hold onto a specific design set for their F series. In fact, it’s a complete overhaul each year bringing design and internal refresh.
The F13 also looks drastically different from the F12. The vertical frosting on the back has been replaced with brushed plastic. The camera housing is now rectangular with a vertical lens arrangement, much like their big brother, the S22.
Read Tecno Camon 19 Neo Review: Know its advantages, disadvantages
However, both devices share similarity in all the other physical attributes. The display is 0.1 inches larger than the last generation. All the ports and buttons reprise their position including the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The physical fingerprint sensor is yet again side-mounted on the power button.
The device is on the heavier side at 207 grams. It's kind of baffling as to why a plastic-built phone would cross the 200 gm mark. But much of it has to do with the large battery packed inside. Overall, the design is much less flashy compared to the previous generation all the while bringing a sense of unison across Samsung’s different lineup.
Display
The display tech used on the Samsung Galaxy F13 is PLS LCD. The 6.5-inch panel has a 1080P resolution with a Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. Usually, it's uncommon to see rated protection on the front glass in this price range. But it's definitely a welcomed addition from Samsung.
Read Walton Primo R9 Review: Competitive in entry-level budget segment
PLS LCD panels aren’t exactly known for the best resolution or viewing angles. especially if compared with AMOLED panels. However, Samsung did an excellent job of calibrating the panel. The colors look deep and punchy with a warmer hue. The viewing angles are also much better than the previous generation. It's almost similar to the IPS LCD panel and anyone would be hard-pressed to tell them apart.
To wrap things up, this is definitely a passable display in this budget range. But there are some Chinese brands like Vivo with their Z1x which already provide AMOLED panels in the same price bracket.
Camera
In hindsight, the camera tech seems to be a downgrade from the F12. The quad-camera setup from last year has been replaced with a triple camera setup. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Read Infinix Note 12 G96 Review: A Budget Phone With Top-Notch Features
Most of the complementing lenses are just gimmicks in a budget device. Companies add these lenses simply to use them as a marketing tool rather than for practical usage. Here Samsung has removed a 2 MP macro shooter and increased the main sensor size.
The F13 has a 50 MP main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture. The remaining two sensors are a 5 MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor. This sensor setup is much more practical and useful in different shooting scenarios.
As always, the main sensor steals the show here. Images look crisp and sharp in well-lit environments. The dedicated night mode from Samsung ensures equal performance in dark conditions as well. The performance isn’t up to par with the flagships or midrange phones, but users will definitely get more than what they’re paying for here.
Read Home Audio Speaker Buying Guide, Price Ranges in Bangladesh
The videography is limited to 1080P at 30 fps. The lower processor is why Samsung couldn’t push it up to 4K. There’s also an 8 MP selfie camera. It’s a generic sensor that gets the job done with nothing out of the ordinary.
Processor and Performance
Perhaps the only complaint can be made about the processor. Samsung is known to market its phones with both Snapdragon and their own in-house Exynos processors. But the F series exclusively ships with the Exynos variants worldwide. But that’s not the problem here.
The problem is the same chipset that was used in the F12. While Samsung made some subtle changes in the design and the cameras, it used the same processor and GPU from last year.
Read Samsung Galaxy A04s: The coming soon budget killer phone
The Galaxy F13 sports Exynos 850 processor built on the 8 Nm architecture. It has an octa-core base with 4 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 and 4 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 chip layouts.
Now the all-important question is, will there be a performance dip since the processor is a year old? It's both a yes and no. Yes in a sense that graphics-intensive games will see some stutters and frame drops. But the Android 12 and the OneUI 4.1 optimizations will increase the overall lightweight task performance of the device. So, the device will dip in performance in certain areas but also increase in others.
Battery and Charge Time
The Samsung Galaxy F13 will feature a 6000 mAh battery. This is part of the reason why a plastic-built phone crossed the 200 gm weight class. The high battery capacity should be able to power the device for up to 10 hours with moderate usage. There’s also a 15W fast charger included in the box. But there’s no charge time data yet.
Read Xiaomi 12 Pro Review: Is it a value for money flagship?
Price of Samsung Galaxy F13
The official price of the Samsung Galaxy F13 in India will be 11,999 Rs. on release. That roughly amounts to 14,179 BDT (1 INR = 1.18 BDT). But that’s just speculation. The price might differ depending on various factors when it becomes official in Bangladesh.
Verdict
Samsung took a safe bet with the galaxy F13. In fact, they played it so safe that they used a chip from 2021 to 2022. Other than this obvious striking issue, the device performs well in the design, camera, and display front.
Samsung Galaxy F13 isn’t really suited for gaming and neither Samsung is marketing it as such. The device will work best as a daily driver with casual to moderately intensive use.

Salman visits R&D institute to see Samsung’s investment in human capital
Prime Minister’s adviser for private industry and investment Salman F. Rahman on Monday visited Samsung Research and Development Institute Bangladesh (SRDB) which is employing hundreds of young Bangladeshis.
South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun accompanied Rahman while Director of SRDB Koo Won-mo briefed them on the activities of the institute and showed them around the 6-storey institute building in Monem Business District.
Speaking highly of the quality of the work of the Bangladeshi experts and engineers they are working with, SRDB officials explained four areas of the institute’s contribution to Bangladesh which includes employment generation, technology development, research and innovation and software export.

SRDB’s main objective is to develop software for Samsung mobile phones, wearables, windows, computers, and other electronic devices.
The SRDB also offers various CSR (Corporation Social Responsibility) activities such as Youth Software Academy, Coding Contest, and support for the autism children.
Ambassador Lee mentioned that Bangladesh is well-positioned in the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) era not only for its highly motivated, talented young people but also for the sizable population, which would form a solid basis for big data creation, a critical element for artificial intelligence.
While Samsung is not yet investing in manufacturing, it is investing in the human capital of Bangladesh through the SRDB, which would play a critical role in achieving the vision of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for Smart Bangladesh, he said.
Samsung has 16 R&D centers in 14 countries worldwide, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Bangladesh and India are the only South Asian countries hosting the R&D Center.

Samsung Galaxy A04s: The coming soon budget killer phone
It's almost the middle of Q2. And that has historically been the prime slot for budget and mid-range device releases every year. Brands like Infinix and Xiaomi have already launched their budget options. On the other hand, Samsung is slated to release their budget offering from the A-series, the A04s some time this month. Samsung Galaxy A04s is tipped to be released on 26th June 2022 in India. With the impressive design, build quality, and Samsung reliability, will this be the new budget king of 2022? Let's look at the specs to find out.
Key Specifications of Samsung Galaxy A04s
Design and Build Quality
The A series from Samsung has historically been mid-range to upper mid-range devices. Samsung opted for the s variant of the A series to fill the void of entry-level devices. As a result, the A04s is expected to resemble the A04 which is slated for a Q3 release.
Starting with the design, Samsung has been bringing uniformity across the huge range of devices they put out each year. While this might seem like a lack of innovation, the trickle-down of the design from the flagships brings similar aesthetics at a fraction of the price.
Read Xiaomi 12 Pro Review: Is it a value for money flagship?
The A04s look much like the recently released S 22 Ultra. The same boxy design is present here with side-mounted buttons and ports.
The main drawback with a budget device is its build quality. While Samsung’s build quality is impeccable, the polycarbonate back and the plastic frame don’t help much. But given the price, the choice is understandable. Unlike the A04, the A04s will not have an under-display fingerprint scanner. Instead, the sensor will be mounted on the power button. Everything else is as usual with the Type-C port, dual sim slot, and micro SDXC support.
To round things up, the design of the A04s is a direct inspiration from the Samsung flagships. And even if the device doesn’t perform to that standard, it will bring an overall satisfactory outlook and aesthetics.
Read Vivo T2x Review: Should you consider this midrange gaming phone?
Display
The display of the Samsung A04s is expected to be around 6.5-inches. The 6.5-inch panel only magnifies the overall footprint of the device as it still has some chunky bezels compared to 2022 standards. As a result, the A04s are expected to be slightly larger in dimension compared to the A03s.
The display itself is an HD+ PLS TFT panel. TFT panels are becoming increasingly obsolete even by budget standards. The panel is seen on ultra-budget devices nowadays as most budget devices come with at least a 720P LCD panel.
The main issue with TFT panels is the viewing angles. A slight curve from the straight view shows a shifting color with the extreme angles rendering the display to be completely dark. Beyond that, the colors appear to be washed out and the blacks look deep gray at best. Even at a budget price point, the display has to be one of the underwhelming aspects of the A04s.
Read Infinix Hot 12 Play Review: Should you buy this budget phone?
Camera
The Samsung A04s will be sporting a triple camera setup. Rather than creating a base for the camera module, Samsung has fitted each of the three lenses individually onto the polycarbonate back.
The main sensor is expected to be a 13 MP wide-angle shooter. The complementing lenses are two 2 MP macro and depth sensors. There aren’t any hands-on samples of the camera module yet as the release of the device is still two weeks off. But Samsung has not made any changes to the camera module from the previous iterations. It's still the same configuration found on the A03s.
Going by that, the A04s should also perform similarly. The A03s performed well under well-lit environments like most other budget 13 MP cameras. The problem starts when the lights become low. Even with Samsung’s post-processing, there are noticeable grains in the images. Now that the A04s have zero change from the A03s, it is at least expected that Samsung would try to mitigate the shortage with better post-processing.
Read OnePlus Nord CE2 Lite 5G Review: Know its Pros, Cons
Processor and Performance
The processor of the Samsung A04s is expected to be an octa-core one. Octa-core has become a norm for the budget to flagships alike and the choice was expected given the brand’s depth with their own as well as Snapdragon’s processor.
It's expected that the A04s will come with two different processors for the global and the European market. The European market will probably see the Exynos 850 processor whereas the global market will see the Snapdragon 480 processor. The choice of dual-processor is nothing new for Samsung as almost all their lineups come in both Snapdragon and Exynos options.
The processors themselves are built on the 8 Nm architecture with Adreno 506 rendering the GPU support. The performance should be around and on par with most budget devices. There isn't any hands-on user experience data available yet. But given the entire package, it will be more of a casual usage device rather than being a heavy usage one.
Read Xiaomi offers up to Tk12,000 cashback on smartphones
Battery and Charge Time
The Samsung A04s will ship with a 4000 mAh battery. The battery might seem a bit small since almost all the budget devices in this price point come with at least 5000 mAh capacity. The low res screen helps to make the device last up to 7 hours in continuous usage. There is an 18W fast charger included as well.
Price of Samsung Galaxy A04s
The expected price of the Samsung Galaxy A04s is 11,999 Rs which roughly amounts to 14,300 BDT (1 INR = 1.20 BDT). However, the price may vary once it becomes officially available in Bangladesh.
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy A04s doesn’t really bring anything new to the table. It’s the same old formula packed in a more streamlined design. while the build and the design are something to get excited about, the display is a letdown. And so is the camera as it’s a simple carry-over from the previous generation. Overall, the A04s has the reliability of Samsung as its greatest sales point.
