BPL Football: Bashundhara Kings take solo lead beating Police FC 3-0
Last two times champions Bashundhara Kings made their debut memorial in their newly constructed home ground Bashundhara Kings Arena, outplaying Police FC by 3-0 goal in the 4th round match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football on Thursday.
With the match, Bashundhara Kings Arena/ Bashundhara Sports Complex, emerged as the country's first privately-owned football ground to host a top level match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football.
The new BPL venue, situated in Block N of the Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital, owned by Bashundhara Group, was inaugurated on Thursday.
The stadium, which earlier used for the practice sessions and friendly matches of the Kings, today (Thursday) entered into history book by hosting the tier-one professional football league match.
Holders Kings , which were struggling in the 12 -team league after suffering 0-1 defeat in the league opener against newcomer Swadhinata KS, regained their rythem today to take a solo lead in the league table securing nine points from four matches.
After a barren result till the 65th minute of the day's match , Brazilian striker cum Kings captain Robson Robinho relived their fans scoring two quick goals in span of only eleven minutes -- 66th and 77th minutes respectively (2-0).
Later, Nigerian origin fresh Bangladeshi citizen Eleta Kingsley added one more goal for the " all red" Bashundhara Kings just three minutes before the final whistle (3-0).
BPL Football: Mohammedan SC play 1-1 draw with Ctg Abahani
Dhaka Mohammedan SC drew 1-1 with Chittagong Ahahani Ltd in their 3rd match of the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Monday.
After the match, traditional Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Chittagong Abahani Ltd remained at the 3rd slot jointly with unbeaten run securing five points each from three matches.
Six times champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd and three times champions Sheikh Jamal DC dominated the league table, also with unbeaten record collecting seven points each from straight three league matches.
In the match, Malian striker Souleyman Diabate, who scored one goal each for the Mohammedan SC against Swadhinata KS and Sheikh Russel KC in the previous matches, today also scored the lone goal for the black and whites Mohammedan in the 28th minute (1-0).
Defender Kamrul Islam leveled the margin for the port city team Chittagong Abahani in the 48th minute (1-1).

Masud Rana of Mohammedan SC got matching order on the match after receiving the 2nd yellow card .
In the day' s other match, newcomer and giant killer Swadhinata Krira Sangha drew goalless with lowly Uttar Baridhara Club at the Bir Shreshtha Fl. Lt. Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj .

A brilliant hattrick by Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes guided six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd to share the top slot in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football outplaying Rahmatganj MFS by 3-0 goals at the
Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Sunday.
Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes scored all the three goals in a span of only six minutes --40th, 43rd and 45+1 minutes--to score the season's first hattrick for the Independence and Federation Cup champions Dhaka Abahani.

Rahmatganj MFS managed a golden opportunity to reduce the margin in the 72nd minute, but their Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba spoiled a penalty sending the spot kick to Abahani custodian.
With the day's well merited victory, the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani dominated the league table with three times champions and last time runners-up Sheikh Jamal DC with unbeaten record securing seven points from three outings.
The old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS remained at the bottom of the league table with empty hand playing three matches.
In the day's other match, Saif Sporting Club tasted the first defeat in their 3rd league match losing to Sheikh Russel KC by O-1 goal at the Bir Shreshtha FL. Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Kyrgyzstani defender Aizar Akmatov scored the match winner for former champions Sheikh Russel KC in the 39th minute from a penalty (1-0).
With the day's maiden defeat, Saif SC went down to 2nd slot in the league table with defending champions Bashundhara Kings collecting six points each from three matches while Sheikh Russel KC is in the 5th slot with unbeaten run securing five points from three encounters .

Three- time champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club lost points in their 3rd match of the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after playing a goalless draw with Police FC at Bir Shreshtha FL. Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Saturday.
Bangladesh Police FC also forced six- time champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd to play 1-1 draw in the previous match in Tongi last Tuesday.
Despite the day's draw, Sheikh Jamal dominated the league table with unbeaten run securing seven points from three encounters while Saif SC and holders Bashundhara Kings followed them with six points playing two and three matches respectively.
Sheikh Jamal DC were restricted to 10-man in the 81st minute of the match as their Uzbek striker Otabek Valizhonov got marching order after receiving 2nd yellow cards.
In the day's other match, defending champions Bashundhara Kings earned the 2nd win in their 3rd match beating Muktijoddha Sangsad KC by 1-0 goal at the Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi
Brazilian booter Robson Robinho scored the match-winning goal for the King's in the 58th minute (1-0).

With the day's feat, traditional Dhaka Mohammedan SC advanced to the 2nd slot in the league table alongwith Dhaka Abahani and Chittagong Abahani with unbeaten run securing four points each from two matches while Swadhinata KS remained at three points playing two ties.
In the previous matches, Dhaka Mohammedan drew 1-1 with Sheikh Russel KC while newcomer Swadhinata KS emerged as the giant killer surprising last two times champions Bashundhara Kings by 2-1 goals.
Three times champions Sheikh Jamal DC and formidable Saif Sporting Club dominated the league table with all-win record collecting full six points each from straight two league matches.

In the day's lone match, Malian striker Souleymane Diabate, who scored the lone goal for Mohammedan SC against Sheikh Russel KC in the last match, today also scored the match -winner for the black and whites Mohammedan in the 77th minute (1-0).

BPL Football: Bashundhara Kings taste first win beating Uttar Baridhara 1-0
Twice-defending champions Bashundhara Kings tasted their first win in this season's 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), beating neighbours Uttar Baridhara Club 1-0 at the Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Monday.
Kings remain favourites to complete a hattrick of championships in the country's most prestigious football competition this time, despite starting their league campaign on a frustrating note losing the opening fixture to newcomers Swadhinata KS 2-1 in Tongi last Thursday, one of the biggest upsets in the competition's history.
On Monday, Bosnian striker Stojan Vranjes scored the all-important deciding goals as early as the first third of the match- decider for the defending champions Kings in the 27th minute by a placing shot, off a long cross by Mohammad Ibrahim (2-0).

Bashundhara Kings have now managed three points from two matches to get back the winning feeling, even as the trophy cabinet remains bare for the 2021-22 season. Kings will enter every domestic competition they play in this year as favourites, having bagged 3 of the 4 official BFF titles last year. Already though, twice this season they have fallen short: in both the Independence Cup and Federation Cup.
Uttar Baridhara Club remained at bottom of the league with empty hand with two successive defeats after conceding 1-2 goals losses against Sheikh Jamal DC in the first match.
Two matches will be on Tuesday (Feb 8).

The six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd will play Police FC in Tongi while Sheikh Jamal DC will meet Muktijoddha SKC in Munshiganj, both at 3pm.
BPL Football: Ctg Abahani beat Rahmatganj 2-1; Sheikh Russel draw 1-1 with Mohammedan SC
Coming from behind, Chittagong Abahani made a good start in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating Rahmatganj MFS by 2-1 at the Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Saturday.
Ghanian professional footballer Philip Adjah put the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS ahead in the very 4th minute (1-0) to dominate the first half.
But the Nigerian striker Peter Ebimobowei Ebi made the match exciting scoring the equaliser for Chittagong Abahani in the 52nd minute (1-1).
Local forward Rubel Miya scored the match winner for the port city team Abahani in the 72nd minute (2-1).
In the day's other match, former champions Sheikh Russel KC managed a 1-1 draw with traditional Dhaka Mohammedan SC at the Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi.

Malian striker Souleymane Diabate scored first for the old horse Dhaka Mohammedan SC in the 23rd minute (1-0).
At the same time, Sheikh Russel KC were restricted to 10-man as their Saaduddin received red card while trying to stop a goal-bound ball, but failed.
When Sheikh Russel KC were struggling with 10-man to survive, then their Kyrgyzstani booter Aizar Akmatov came to rescue his team making equaliser by a good header, utilizing a corner of his mate in the 84th minute (1-1).
Mohammedan SC were also restricted to 10-man in the 67th minute when their Masud Rana got a direct red card
After the match, the first round of the BPL Football was completed.
BPL Football: Swadhinata KS upset Bashundhara Kings 2-1 in opener
Newcomer Swadhinata Krira Sangha made a biggest upset in the opening match of the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating last two times champions Bashundhara Kings by 2-1 goal at Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Thursday.
Bosnian striker Nedo Turkovic put the Swadhinata KS ahead in the 25th minute from a penalty (1-0).
Newcomer Swadhinata KS got the spot kick when Kings midfielder Atiqur Rahman Fahad committed handball in the danger zone .

Local forward Rasel Ahmed doubled the margin for Swadhinata KS in the 47th minute with the frustration of big budgeted B Kings (2-0).
Bashundhara Kings, which looking for a hattrick championship this time, started their league campaign with frustrating note conceding two goals in a row and fielded four substitute players in the match tó change game.
But, the Kings failed to avoid the shameful defeat despite local forward Tawhidul Alam Sabuz reduced the margin scoring a goal in the 73rd minute (2-1).
Once triple crown holders Bashindhara Kings is passing very bad time recently as they suffered a shocking defeat in the day's opener after depriving of the season's two major soccer trophies--Independent Cup and Federation Cup Football.

In the day's other match, three times champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club made a good start defeating Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-1 goal at Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Gambian forward Suleiman Sillah scored first for Sheikh Jamal in the 11th minute while Nigerian booter Matthew Chinedu doubled the margin in the stoppage time of the first half (45+2 minute).
Uzbek booter Y .Kochnev pulled the Uttar Baridhara margin one back in the 68th minute from a penalty (2-1).
On Friday, six times champions Dhaka Abahani Ltd will face Muktijoddha Sangsad KC at 3pm in Tongi while Saif Sporting Club will encounter Bangladesh Police FC at 3 pm in Munshiganj.
The eleven- round first phase matches will be held from February 3 to March 19/20 in two venues adjoining the capital-- Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium inTongi Bir Shreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Just three venues to host BPL football for Covid-19
The number of venues for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football have been reduced to three from seven due to the increasing trend of Covid-19 in the country.
The most prestigious football league of the country is scheduled to begin on February 3 in Dhaka and adjoining areas.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Professional Football League Committee at the BFF board room Saturday (Jan 29) afternoon with committee chairman and BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy MP in the chair.

The three selected venues are: Bashundhara Kings Complex in Dhaka, Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi and Bir Shreshtha Motiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
The league committee is also maintaining close touch with Bangladesh Army Sports Control Board to arrange some BPL matches at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Banani.
The four excluded venues are Sylhet District Stadium, Gopalganj Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium, Cumilla Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium and Rajshahi Stadium.

Meanwhile, the logo unveiling ceremony and the captain's meet of BPL will be held on Sunday (Jan 30) at 1 pm at the Ball Room of Banani Sheraton Hotel .
BFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin will be present on the occasion.
BPL Football to begin on February 3
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football 2021-22, the most prestigious football competition of the country, will kick off on February 3 with the participation of top 12 clubs.
The decision was taken at the first meeting of the BFF Professional League Management Committee (PLMC) held at BFF conference room on Monday afternoon with committee chairman and BFF senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP in the chair.
However, the BPL venues will be finalized at the next meeting.

The Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) Football 2021-22, the 2nd-tier football league of the country, will begin on February 20 at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium, Kamalapur here.
The decision came from a sub-committee meeting of the Bangladesh Championship League on Monday at the same venue with PLMC chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP in the chair.
The first window of BCL inter-club players transfer formalities will be held on January 15 to February 15 between 12 noon to 5 pm at the BFF office in every working day.

The 12 teams are NoFel SC, Fortis FC, Kawran Bazar Pragoti Sangha, Agrani Bank SC, Dhaka Wanderes Club, Fakirerpool Youngmen’s Club, Farashganj SC, Uttara FC, Wari Club, Azampur FC (Uttara), Gopalganj SC and BFF Elite Football Academy.
Soon after completion of BCL football 2021-22, a U-18 Football Tournament will be held with the participation of the BCL teams.
