Coronavirus: Airlines in Bangladesh lose Tk 1,361 cr in March-April
Two months into the coronavirus pandemic, the authorities concerned of all domestic and state-run airlines have suffered a loss of Tk 1,361 crore over the months of March and April following the suspension of all flights on both domestic and international routes.
Coronavirus: 318 more stranded Bangladeshis return from India
As part of effort taken by the government, 318 more Bangladeshis returned home from Delhi and Chennai in two special flights on Saturday.
Of the returnees, 151 came from New Delhi by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines while 167 other came from Chennai by another special flight of US-Bangla Airlines, according to Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.
Most of the returnees are patients who got stuck in India due to current lockdown there amid coronavirus outbreak. Students are also there among the returnees.

US-Bangla to operate cargo flights from next week
US-Bangla Airlines will operate cargo flights from the next week.
It will carry essential items including personal protective equipment (PPE) for doctors, hand sanitizers, hand gloves and masks from other countries by using its four cargo aircraft, said a press release.
Besides, it will also carry export goods including garment products and perishable goods.
Primarily, the airlines will operate cargo flights to the Asian countries including Singapore, Malaysia, China, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, India, Qatar, Bahran and UAE, said the press release.
