Civil Surgeon Dr Selim Mia said the 33-year-old patient from Manik village of Panchbibi upazila was sent to Gopinathpur IHT Isolation Centre.
He said another 43 samples were collected in the last 24 hours.
The civil surgeon also informed that 21 people in the district have been sent to isolation while 471 people are staying in quarantine.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 2,948 coronavirus cases and 101 deaths.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana on Monday said, "We’re in a great crisis”.
2 held with 25 sacks of rice in Joypurhat
Police in a drive arrested two people along with 25 sacks of rice meant for sale to the poor at Tk 10 per kg under a government programme from a house at Nimtoli in Khetlal upazila on Saturday midnight.
The arrestees are Tota, son of Tozammel Hossain and Abdul Majid, son of Taslim Uddin of the upazila.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive at the house of Tota and seized the rice sacks, weighing 50 kg each, from the house around 12 pm, said ASM Siddiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Khetlal Police Station.
Later, police arrestedTota and his associate Abdul Majid in this connection.
2 Brunei returnees fined in Joypurhat
A mobile court here on Sunday night fined two returnees from Brunei to Tk 7,000 for breaching home quarantine rules at Chandipur village in Sadar upazila.
Sobuj Ali and Saheb Ali returned home from Brunei five days ago. Without following home quarantine rules, they were visiting here and there and their relative which created panic among villagers, said Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner Monabbar Hossain.
